We signed Kuyt??! Finally something is happening

He did well for his first season.

He is certainly not the deadly "fox in the box" striker that we need; neither is he the creative Dalglish/Beardsley type; neither is he capable of playing upfront on his own and holding the ball up; so what exactly does Dirk Kuyt give us other than effort and workrate?

IMHO if it meant us getting someone of the calibre of say a Berbatov, I'd definitely let the lad go.

I don't agree with this "it takes time to settle" argument either. Class shows immediately - maybe just in snippets at first and consistency comes later but if its not there at all its not coming. Anyone that doubts this should consider the impact Mascherano has had; or Berbatov at Spurs for that matter.

West Ham his goal just after half time was unreal.
He had a lot of assists as well as the goals he scored.
also he scored against Spurs I think with a cracker the ball was slightly behind him but he flicked it into his path.
          There were more.

Kinell I find a decent thread for once and all my points have allready been brought up.

I think he would have scored more goals had he been played further upfield, but I think he does a good job in the spot he playes in, he's the best prem striker we've had since Owen, so that's something to be going with. With the right striking partner (I don't think that's Torres tho) I think we'd have a very good front line. If we've got Kuyt weighing in with 15 or so in the league next season, and we get a 20 a season, we'll do just fine.

But again the problem with last season wasn't up front, it was our lack of goals from midfield so i'm happy with what we have to be honest, i'd say priorites should be goal scoring wingers not strikers.

Much prefer Crouch to be honest.

He's a good player, but at no point last season did I see a £10m pound centre forward.

                Great point.

Apart from his obvious qualities, I think Dirk did extremely well to come in from a ****e league like the Eredivisie, and go straight into the Prem's top 10 goalscorers in his first year, especially given that he was played mostly in a withdrawn role.

Berbatov's no more a prolific goalscorer than Kuyt.

I agree except that I think he will score about 20 with the right supply.

Yup, he just looks prettier doing what he does, Berbatov is certainly no goal machine himself

I'd have to disagree there was enough there to warrant that price tag.

                            I'd swap Bellamy for Owen.

Kuyt,Crouch and either one of Villa,Huntelaar,Eto'o,Tevez please!
