    Kuyt

Am I alone in being very unimpressed with the guy last season? You couldn't fault his workrate but that is only a portion of a strikers role surely?

I was trying to remember - was there any one game you could say that he won for us alone with a piece of brilliance?

He is certainly not the deadly "fox in the box" striker that we need; neither is he the creative Dalglish/Beardsley type; neither is he capable of playing upfront on his own and holding the ball up; so what exactly does Dirk Kuyt give us other than effort and workrate?

IMHO if it meant us getting someone of the calibre of say a Berbatov, I'd definitely let the lad go.

I don't agree with this "it takes time to settle" argument either. Class shows immediately - maybe just in snippets at first and consistency comes later but if its not there at all its not coming. Anyone that doubts this should consider the impact Mascherano has had; or Berbatov at Spurs for that matter.

    Discuss.

Not too impressed, but in his defense, he was played more as a midfielder by Rafa.

    - He is a bit hit and hope with his finishing. terribly one footed and slow.
+ He has a great attitude and is very aware of teammates though.

His goals against the Chavs and West Ham (the belter) were class.

All I was say is that fans of other teams I speak to rave about him. Therefore he must be doing something right.

I agree that he doesn't score enough though. I think that his partly due to the job he is expected to do, i.e. drop back and help out in the midfield area. Let him stick it out in the box and i'm certain he'd score more. Plus, it was his first season in England, so I think he is allowed a little bit of lee-way.

if this turns into a Kuyt bashing thread - those responsible will incurr my wrath. If people haven't got anything constructive to say - then do us a favour and say nothing.

                Be warned.......

Really? All I get is stick.

                      "That Kuyt is absolutely ****!"

"What does he do apart from run around a lot?"

They're being harsh, naturally, but I wasn't blown away by him last season. I have some serious misgivings about certain aspects of his game but ultimately it's goals that matter, and he did *okay* in that respect.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It's his first season and he scored 14 goals. Give him a chance. As Reece says his role has been more of a link than an out-and-out striker.

the only thing that concerns me is not the lack of brilliant goals, it was the lack of messy tap in goals

i expected him to be alot more of a poacher/goal scorer.
