Am I alone in being very unimpressed with the guy last season? You couldn't fault his workrate but that is only a portion of a strikers role surely?
I was trying to remember - was there any one game you could say that he won for us alone with a piece of brilliance?
He is certainly not the deadly "fox in the box" striker that we need; neither is he the creative Dalglish/Beardsley type; neither is he capable of playing upfront on his own and holding the ball up; so what exactly does Dirk Kuyt give us other than effort and workrate?
IMHO if it meant us getting someone of the calibre of say a Berbatov, I'd definitely let the lad go.
I don't agree with this "it takes time to settle" argument either. Class shows immediately - maybe just in snippets at first and consistency comes later but if its not there at all its not coming. Anyone that doubts this should consider the impact Mascherano has had; or Berbatov at Spurs for that matter.
