I'm always sad when a player leaves the club no matter who they are.
Especially when it's a player that played a part in our Champions League
    2005 success.

      You drank sangria
You came from Barca to Liverpool
      But now you're leaving
      And we are grieving
      Athletico have taken you away

Gutted to see him go, also gutted that he didnt get a chance to say a proper goodbye to the fans.

The ONLY thing that makes this bearable IMO, is that if we get proper wingers (fingers crossed), i struggle to see where Luis would have been able to fit into the side.

But i wish he hadnt gone though.

                All the best lad.

I'm really sad to see him go. We'll remember that goal against Juve forever.

This is as bad as Fowler leaving in 2001.

I'm not even goin to go into detail about how he could be infuriating and then how he was genius etc.

For me he was genius all the time. Goals in 2 semi finals against Chelsea that went on to become the winners of the tie. His beautiful 25 Yrd volley that "£32 million pounds worth of goalkeeper couldn't do a thing about", Ending Roy Keanes career (who said he's not hard :P) and just his smile, I did love his smile because it normally came at the end of some spanish magic- he played with a smile on his face and he loved the club and the fans.

Luis Garcia he drinks Sangria, he came from Barca to bring us joy, he's five foot seven, he's football heaven please don't take my Luis away

                        Hardly a legend.
Time was right for him to go, and if reports were true and his wife couldnt settle here then he really didnt have much choice.
Although we need a player in the creative mould, Luis wasnt it IMO, far too many attacks broke down once he had the ball.
That said, when he was on song he was great to watch, some great goals.
Wish the lad all the best.

i don't think i've been this upset in years, with a player leaving. a player that created so much. he never lost us any direct points but he won a whole bunch of them almost single handed. he played with passion and joy, witch can't be said about most players, he loved this club, he loved playing for us, and he will be missed, and we missed him badly last season, and i feel even more let down by the fact that he didn't have a chance to say good bye...

                          thanks for the memories Luis

I wouldn't normally call someone a legend who's only played 120 games for us, but he is entwined in our history, and our historic 5th CL win, which there is no doubt we would not have won without him. 5 goals in the 6 knockout ties to get us to the final. Winners in the quarter final and the semi final. In my book, that makes him a legend.

agreed no one is saying he is on god-like status like shanks, Paisley, kenny, fowler etc... but legendary he must be.
