I was watching the season review on Sunday and he scored some smashings goals for us not just last season but throught his short career as a red.

I'm sorry to see him go.

Don't think of it as losing a legend but gaining a bigger legend and No.19 through Torres!! (Hopefully!)

Here is what would confirm legendary status for me - would you wear a Garcia shirt now that he's left?

I know I would - I am tempted to go buy a Spain shirt with Garcia on the back to go with my ALonso Spain shirt (which incidentally i would also wear afterXabi's gone).

All the best King Luis. Thanks for the memories especially the one against Juve. Still enjoy watching that one till today and of course not forgetting the goal against Maureen's team.

Winners in the quarter final and the semi final. In my book, that makes him a legend.
              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I can only assume he felt he needed to go back to spain, i imagine it'll come out in the next few days, shame really, and i think we've been shafted on the price but thats another matter

Everyone else has reported Luis' departure apart form the offal. I wonder why. May be they are waiting to confirm Torres' arrival first?

That's an interesting way to think about it. I'd definitely have his name on a shirt.

                        Some things, unfortunately, are impossible.

                          I couldn't resist Atletico - Garcia

Luis Garcia admitted the lure of returning to Atletico Madrid was too strong to resist after rejoining his former club from Liverpool.

Garcia, who spent the 2002-2003 season at the Vicente Calderon, signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee with the Primera Liga side.

While conceding it was hard to leave Anfield, the Spain international revealed he could not turn down a move home.

He said: "It was a personal decision.

"Liverpool are one of the best clubs in the world. I spent three great years at Liverpool but it was time to consider my future.

"I could have stayed or I could return to Spain. I have made a decision which I believe is the right one.

"I simply couldn't reject the offer when given the opportunity to return to Atletico.

"Liverpool has been very important in my career and I will never forget my time there.

"Their fans are amazing, they supported me since my arrival, in good and bad times. I tried to do the best I could to repay their trust but nothing I can do can ever repay their unconditional support."

The 29-year-old is one of five acquisitions made by Atletico this summer along with Diego Forlan, Christian Abbiati, Raul Garcia and Cleber Santana.

An he believes the capital outfit, who finished seventh in the 2006-07 season, will be a force to be reckoned with next term.

"I aim for titles next season," he said.

"We have a great team and I think if the team continues to work in the same manner as they did last season, I see no reason why we cannot take the club to the position where it belongs."
