Don't get why so many people on internet forums rate him. I'll be glad if he's replaced - we can do with a far more consistent, less-lightweight player.

Luis Garcia is a fecking legend!
I don't buy this whole lightweight argument, Garcia is a little tough ****. Look what he did to Roy Keane, or when he played the whole second half in the derby against Everton with a fugged ankle.
I'll be devastated if he leaves. On the Ning Nang Nong

There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang!
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So it's Ning Nang Nong!

Trees go Ping!
Nong Ning Nang!
The mice go clang!
What a noisy place to belong,

I think the light weight argument is a difficult one. The fact is that Luis can hold his own and isn't afraid to get stuck in most situations - mostly when I say light weight it is a short hand for the lack of the mentality to do these things and basically fight when necessary. At all these things Luis is very good.
Sometimes though we need someone to out muscle people to the ball and Luis (like Crouch) doesn't have the physique to do this without it looking like a blatant foul. I'm not sure this is a valid criticism of Luis as a player but it is a slight disadvantage in terms of how we would look to put a team together.
Still I love Luis and would be very sad to see him leave."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I just can't see him getting that many games in a league campaign to be honest.
I've just read that he's in the final year of his contract, news to me but doesn't that tell a story,i.e. why not tie him up last year!!!
If i could use him as a barter for Torres i would.
while it'd be sad to see him leave, if it means getting torres for a reasonable price i could stomach it. i have a lot of time for garcia and the way he can turn a game, but he does go missing for long periods of time. not taking away from what he has done for us in the past, those goals will always be remembered. i think benayoun would be a decent replacement and would be able to offer more in the PL than garcia probably could.when things go wrong, don't walk away.
that'll only make it harder.

In this 2nd season he was the player with the most fouls in the EPLOriginally posted by ningnangnong View PostLuis Garcia is a fecking legend!

I hate seeing the ball given away cheaply so I naturally found Garcia to be exasperating most of the time. I never thought he was as creative as some others think he is either.
Having said that, he does have an eye for goal and anyone who has brayed Keano and scored in TWO victorious semi finals against the Chavs deserves a special place in all our hearts and big thankyou when he eventually stops playing for us.
Indeed, his record scoring against Chelsea almost makes me fear to sell him, look how we've fared against the Scum since Danny Murphy left.

I have to say Kev I quite like the Lil fecker he's done some great stuff for us and we have sorely missed him this season when teams put up brick walls against us we had nobody that could do something out of nothing.Originally posted by SCOUSERTOMMY View Postkeane never played for the mancs again
if he goes does go, i hope its to a better club playing european football, he deserves better
I know he frustrates but he makes up for it more often than not.
The only thing I will say is that if he goes I would hope whatever players we sign have a creative flair and can do it on a more consistent basis.
TBH if given the choice keep Luis and not get Torres I'd keep Luis.
