    Luis Garcia Appreciation Thread

Ok, so been reading a few things on here about Luis quite likely being on his way, with a part-exchange deal with Atletico for Torres being mooted and Benayoun being his likely replacement. Certainly the fact that he's got two years left on his deal and we've heard nothing about contract negotiations etc seems to be quite indicative.

I've read a few comments on here of people saying they;d be happy to see the back of him, and be happy to have Beneyoun as his replacement. Personally I dont understand that at all. Luis offers us something currently no other player does. He is the only player we have who can play in the hole behind the striker (Gerrard looked lost in that role in Athens), he also knows how to gamble and get in the right positions in the box and get on the end of crosses and loose balls (in the way Kuyt can't) and he is probably the most clinical finisher we have.

Yes he tries the elaborate flicks and is frustrating when he loses the ball, but he scores goals and goals win games, as Luis has done for us on many a big occasion. We can't afford to let him go IMO. No disrespect to Benayoun, he'd be a good squad player and is proven in the Prem, but if he replaces Luis then we're a poorer team and squad IMO.

So this is a thread to discuss Luis, whether he's worth keeping or not, but mainly it's to appreciate all he's done for us, say thanks and wish him all the best for the future, whether that be at Anfield or elsewhere.

      The goal against Juve

The 2 semi final goals against the Chavs

He's a little genius Luis, capable of the sublime and the ridiculous in the same game.

I dont know why we need one of these appreciation threads now but i love little Luis great player the most talented player in our squad.

He's a fantastic talent and very frustrating at times but worth his place in the team

                      I think he's great.

Frustrating at times undoubtedly, but there isn't another player like him in the squad. Players with an uncanny knack of being able to make something happen in the tightest games are few and far between.

I think we need it becasue I saw some posts in the Beneyoun thread about Luis which quite frankly I thought were unappreciative of what he has done for us and what he offers us.

                            Oh right

We should sell him unless we have Kaka lined up

Cause we have no other player in our squad that is a good as him at his position and skill
