The player that disappointed you the most last season?

You expected a lot more than he showed; which LFC player disappointed you the most last season?

I'll say Xabi Alonso. He was a big disappointment last season. I expected quite a lot of his killer passes that would result in a goal or at least a half chance, but got almost nothing. He did however scored that goal against barcodes, but that was it.

Maybe I'm being somehow unfair here, but that's how I see it

Steven Gerrard by a long shot.

Yes Xabi was a big let down last season.

You expect alot more from players like them, not good enough really but i've said before i expect the pair of em to come back stronger than ever this coming season.

There were quite a few nominaions:

Xabi, Gerrard, Riise, Bellamy, Kuyt, Pennant but my number 1 vote goes to Gonzalez. He was out of his depth from day 1.

Gonzales. Promised so much, delivered so little.

Agree about Xabi though, lets hope he's back to his best this year.

was gonna say Gonzalez too - so much hope had been created by the delayed move / loan spell - pity.

Stevie and Xabi were for me the biggest under acheivers last season because we have seen so much better from both.
I think fatigue took it's toll on both & we won't see as bad a season from them again.

I don't see how that makes him the biggest disappointment mate, he hadn't given us anything to hope for whereas Xabi and Stevie we know can be 10 times better than they were last season.
Gonzalez didn't work out but we couldn't or shouldn't have expected to much in his first season IMO anyway.

Definitely Gonzo. I didn't expect him to tear defences apart, but just being able to beat someone the odd time would've been nice. Gerrard had a very poor season by his standards so he's next for me.

I think I listenend to all the hype sayign that he was "the best winger in spain" according to some people and Rafa saying he was the best player in Chile (hardly a ringing endorsement ). I'd also seen him beating the world on youtube.

My expectations were for him to at least tie down a first team place but he was gash.

                        Gerrard for me.

While Alonso was inconsistent, he was not as bad as people make out, and there was not much movement ahead of him to take advantage of his passing abilities.

Hard to pick from Momo, Bellamy and Gonzalez. Probably Bellamy as I can make excuses for the other two.

Gonzo for not living up to his hype.

Gerrard for being significantly below his best (even if that's still pretty good)

Bellamy for wasting the chance of proving his world-class potential in a big team.

Rafa described Gonzalez as being the best player from Chile. Having seen how ****e they were in the Copa America that's like saying Darren Fletcher is the best player from Scotland...
