I'm not even gonna get into this again, I have him on ignore now which makes my visit to 1892 much more pleasant.
I certainly did not mean to offend anyone by using the word Cancer, if anything I had an auntie who died because of that.
Why am I discussing this after 2 or 3 weeks again, feck.

I think people are over sensitive to the word Cancer.
Is it not ok to say yobs are a cancer to society?.

        Okay, have it your way.

If you insist on being obtuse, just add me to the growing list of people who tried and failed to reason with you.

I'll leave you to have your obligatory final word...
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

            Agree

Most words, as those who have read the OED, have multiple definitions. The short sighted among us tend to focus on the most popular definition.

Cancer can also mean "pernicious, spreading evil"!!!!!!!!!!

TBH mate, i appreciate the fact that you're being balanced on this.

Despite what anyone thinks, i dont WANT to 'argue' with anyone, i dont enjoy the petty nature of some of it and it IS pointless. But, as i've said time and time again, i very rarely instigate stuff like that, all i do is reserve the right to defend myself. I'm not fussed if people have a dig at me, but when my response is the only thing that people complain about, it's a bit pathetic. If someone has a pop, that's fine with me - as long as i'm given the right to defend myself. I agree it's stupid and pointless, but if that's what people insist on doing then yeah, i'll play the game and bite back. If people tried NOT provoking me, they might find me acting differently too. People who DONT have a pop at me dont seem to have a problem with me either.

Swings and roundabouts perhaps? Pain in the arse, definitely.

As for the cancer dig it's a bit taboo really, it gets used all the time in american stuff, but it's not really something that's in common use in our vocabularly, I personally wouldn't use it becuase there's always the danger that someone might have first hand experience of it and might find it offensive.
90% of the time, i'm very 'live and let live', little offends me and i understand things get said in jest or banter form. But that one particular thing was too far, and as someone who has been directly affected by the issue concerned (like others, i'm sure), i find it well below the belt and will struggle to keep quiet about it.

If you'd just said that at the time, we wouldnt be here now.

Whether you can read this or not, i thank you for making this point and apologise for getting heated up.

That's the end of the matter as far as i'm concerned..

It was more the context that it was used in TBH.

But anyway, it's done and dusted and i'm not going to keep bringing it up.

I dont want to have the 'final word', so please reply to this

I just wanted to explain that it grows frustrating when people always think the worst of what i've said, or automatically assume the worst, when i've said something that's open to interpretation. That's what prompted my response. I'm sorry for going off on one, you didnt deserve to have your head bitten off.

Well you used to **** me right off on KopTalk, constant pedantic arguments and all that, but I've been pleasantly surprised since coming on here that you appear to have mellowed a lot. I'm sure this means little but there you go.

Misunderstandings are never comfortable for anybody.

Whenever I am misunderstood, I consider it courteous to rephrase or clarify my point because anything else risks further misunderstanding and subsequent discomfort.

                        Maybe that's just me.
