If you sell the naming rights, that means that your stadium changes name every five or ten years like the Milk/Littlewoods/Rumbelows/Coca Cola/Worthington/Carling Cup. Seems a bit crap or do they have to sign up for 50 year deals?
I just hope we get a sponsor that doesn't rule out any support. I have a lot of muslim friends who will not even wear the shirt due to it having Carlsberg across it.
well thats their look out then isn't it. christ, its 2007 lets be gone with all this religious hocus pocus bullsh*t.

I thought most of these stadium naming deals were 10 years or so.
What have I learned, Mr Mackay? Three things. One - bide your time. Two - keep your nose clean. And three - don't let the *******s grind you down
Sorry, but how the **** are the Liverpool Echo going to pay 100 million quid for naming rights? That would take a **** load of classified ads for escort agencies and some strong paper lads.

I don't agree with it either, but surely it would make more financial sense to get a deal that enables us to market our brand in all parts of the world, instead of one that will mean us losing out on a large proportion of the worlds population?

I think we should definitely either retain Anfield or give it something unique (similar to St.Mary's at Soton). If it's called the XXXXXX Anfield Stadium, everyone will still call it Anfield, no matter who the sponsor is.
St.Mary's is actually Friends Provident St.Mary's Stadium but everyone knows it as St.Mary's. The Emirates is just known as The Emirates.

Actually Carlsberg is doing quite well with non-alcoholic beers in some muslim countries.
If we're gonna sell the naming rights then we've already taken a leap in corporate cock-sucking. At which point it really may as well go to the highest bidder, whoever they are.
But seriously i hope it's not called 'New' Anfield, its like the New Den, sounds ****e, i would prefer Anfield or i'd be quite happy with Stanley Park.
