Well that surely means the rest of our strikers are mediocre, if kuyt scored more than them in the league. We should probably add Berbatov to that list aswell.

Im not sure about Kuyt. He's either great or extremely poor. His first touch is very erratic and so his finishing. However his awareness and work rate are both very good.

I dont know why people are praising Gerrard for this, he is supposed to be our Captain and is there to calm things down, not get stuck in. It was a meaningless friendly and if UEFA do their job properly, Gerrard will be banned.

What struck me about the game most is how often it was stopped by the whistle blowing for the mildest of challenges. God its boring. All goal excitement killed by that bloody whistle just because someone has tumbled under miniscule pressure.

It's a dull sanitised game these days. Lets face it, we love a good scrap. Its boss. Its part of the entertainment. Okay it shouldn't be overly encouraged but whats wrong with a bit of a ruck now and then.

Its one of the few things left in the game that makes us get excited.

Many great stikers never had any pace. Shearer and Fowler are prime examples.

Dirk is nowhere near that level of finisher though.
