Our final position ultimately depends on whether or not our front four gel. We have both the best defence and CM in the league. No question. If we get a good return from the strikers and wide players we will WIN.

We have the best mentality, work rate, variety and have had the best transfer window of any of the top 4.

Add to that Gerrard and Xabi playing at their level (unlike last year) and TBH I can't see too many teams being able to match us.

In pre-season the link up and fludity of our front-line has been miles better than last season.

Can't see us finishing anywhere other than third for the following reasons.

No cover for Carra/Agger (Hyppia is too slow, Paletta poor)
The very limited JAR is still first choice LB
We still need a decent winger, Babel, Yossi are not wingers and Pennant flatters but can he deliver the killer ball against a top team? I don't think so. Alves would have been great. We've laid too much at the feet of Torres and Gerrard. You never know I suppose. We can hope that Leto will shine.

        My sentiments exactly

there is still time but if the window ends here with just one more signing in the 7 mill£ bracket, I must admit I thought we would get more. With the current fullback situation and the attacking wingers available I can't see a challenge for the PL at all. Not when we look at what Chelski and Scum has to offer.

With this window Moores might as well still be in office. No cash injection which most of us thought were on the table. Did we not all expect it? We are operating on the normal budget. TV money, sponsership and CL money.

        26/07/07 Lucas Leiva Gremio £6m
        13/07/07 Ryan Babel Ajax £11m
12/07/07 Yossi Benayoun West Ham £5m.
        04/07/07 Fernando Torres Atletico £21m
        Leto £1m

        out 44m£

        LIVERPOOL TRANSFERS OUT
10/07/07 Craig Bellamy West Ham £7.5m
        09/07/07 Djibril Cisse Marseille 6,5.
04/05/07 Florent Sinama Pongolle Recreativo Huelva £2.7m
        Garcia 4m
        Gonzo 3m

        in 24

As far as I can see The Count at TLW has been absolutely spot on.
