Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

      Surely has to be Neill?

When was the last time we signed a player on the last day of a transfer window? Was it Robbie? Or was it when we signed two keepers?

I went on to a few Blackburn fansites to see what they thought about the whole Neill situation. Not once did I read anyone showing any regret whatsoever that he is about to leave. Some are even talking about a swap with Warnock plus some cash, which they reckon is a great deal because they reckon Warnock is the better player.

I don't agree that Warnock is a "better player".

But the thing with Warnock is that we already have two left-backs in Riise and Aurelio as well as two left-wingers in Gonzalez and Kewell. I wouldn't mind if Warnock was included in the deal.

The two positions that we need cover for is right back and centre-midfield.

Neill doesn't look very likely any more it seems...

I'm with you on that, I don't agree Warnock is better, but it's a bit worrying how little the Blackburn fans rate Neill.

If he is being brought in for cover fair enough, but £4 million for cover is pretty steep.

To be fair, if you were paid £2m a year but couldn't get into the team, would you take a £1m+ pay cut?!

I had a feeling that this would fall through when it hadn't been mentioned by many news sources today.

I still wouldnt be able to look anyone in the eye collecting that money and contributing nothing.
I would have thought we could have reached an agreement where we pay half his wages or something. But then that just makes it real obvious that he is utter crap.

In fairness we're not talking about a guy who's earning 15k a year. Diao is made. He earns huge money. He'll still earn huge money even with a pay cut.

Well before the inflated wages came in, football was about playing just to play, win and be the best. With Diao, the money should be a secondary thing. And it's very easy to make it secondary when even the smallest wage he could get is well up there in real world terms.
