I dont understand why we'd bring in a new GK and let Carson go out on loan again. If Rafa likes Carson as much as he says he does why not keep him at the club and play him? Instead we go out and get a keeper we don't know much about. If Pepe gets injured do we really want an unkown quantity at GK?

I'm not sure about the signing, not because of his GK ability (never seen the geezer play or even heard of him!) but more because it puts Reina in a comfort position, he now knows this guy has been bought in to play second fiddle and thus he moves into the pipe and slippers zone knowing that there is no real competition for places.

Maybe, i hope he's not, but its only human - you know no matter what, no matter what mistakes you make you will still play - i don't like it, prefer two guys competing, thus bringing the best out of both.

Look at the Chavs - Cech and Cuddicini both fighting it out, both would get in to most peoples 1st teams, but Cech wins and he's been awesome, probably better then our Reina too.
