        Does this mean he's going to throw Babel in straight away (on the left) or maybe even Leto (i seem to recall some posters saying he did alright in his preseason game??!).

            I dont see any reason why Babel and Torres should not start today.
            They will give us pace on the break and something different.

              Dont really care fore his preseason form TBH. As far as i am concerned he has spent the last 12 months getting ready for this game. I saw enough of him in the Asian cup to feel he is on the right track. He certainly should be in the squad at the very least.

                Yes in the squad but not the first 11 yet. I think Babel and Pennant should start or maybe Yossi for Pennant

                  It is only speculation yet.How did he do in the Asian Cup?He hardly came up against anyone decent surely.Babel will hopefully start and have a wicked game and cement his place in that position.

                      Anyone think that Sami might start to deal with John Carew as he's a big chap. No Kewell or Benayoun could mean a back four of Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia & Agger, with Riise playing left mid?

                      (We played Agger at LB once or twice last season).

                          sami is finished and was last season too... he single handedly cost us a few points last season!!!! agger is just pure class for his age

                              That was not my point. I have watched Harry for years and i was looking for signs that he may be back to full fitness or near enough. I saw that although i am sure others expected more.

                              What i am trying to say is that both the club and Harry know it is last chance saloon. They bit the bullet 12 months ago and made the crucial decision to do the complete overhaul, a costly exercise (wages) with potentially a huge pay off.

                              That is why i am surprised people read so much into Harry's preseason form. He is basically just getting some match fitness and sharpness but i doubt very much he or Rafa want him busting his gut yet. Doesnt make sense for me.

                                utter bollox. Sami has lost what exactly? His pace? never had any did he? His reading of the game? You NEVER lose this! His aerial ability? Nope. Tell me what points he lost us? Of course Agger is in the team on merit - he's got more pace than Sami and it's needed if we're going to play a high line ahead of Pepe. He has youth on his side and those two reasons are why Sami is not in the team
