Liverpool have nine players out on loan at various parts of the country and Europe at the moment. Here's how they are getting on...

    Scott Carson

Scott is enjoying regular first team football with Aston Villa and has proved to be a big success for Martin O'Neill's team. He also won his first England cap this season against Croatia.

    Danny Guthrie

The former Liverpool reserve team captain is enjoying life at Bolton under Gary Megson. He was signed on loan by Sammy Lee at the start of the season but it is under Megson that he has started to flourish. Most notable displays include the victory over Manchester United in December and he also got high acclaim for his performance against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup. He was recently named as one to watch in 2008 by Setanta Sports.

    Godwin Antwi

Godwin is currently at League One side Hartlepool United until the end of this campaign and has proved to be a model of consistency for Danny Wilson's side. The Ghanaian centre half was sidelined for a spell through injury but he has bounced back to become a regular member of the team who are 15th in League One.

    Anthony Le Tallec

The French Under-21 star is back in his homeland with Le Mans until the end of the season. The team are doing pretty well so far and currently lie in fifth place in Ligue 1. Le Tallec recently scored in the 3-1 win at Lens.

    Paul Anderson

The winger is on a season long loan at Swansea City and has been in fantastic form. He has scored eight goals so far for Roberto Martinez's side who are sitting proudly at the top of the League One table.

    Adam Hammill

The winger is on a season long loan at Southampton and has been a regular member of George Burley's squad. He has produced a series of dazzling displays for the Saints who are currently 15th in the Championship. Former Red Gregory Vignal is also at Southampton. The Saints are currently six points off the play-off zone.

    Robbie Threlfall

The left back is on loan with Hereford United until the end of January and is currently on the sidelines with an ankle problem, sustained during the FA Cup win over Hartlepool United in December. He is expected to return to action in two weeks and a notable performance during his loan spell at Edgar Street came in an FA Cup giantkilling victory over Leeds United.

    Miki Roque

Miki is on a season long loan at Spanish Second Division side Xerez CD and has been a regular member of their team. Unfortunately it has been a season of struggle for the Spanish side who are currently second from bottom in the league table.

    Besian Idrizaj

The season hasn't gone as well as expected for the former Austrian Under-21 player of the year. He started the campaign with a hat-trick for the first team during a friendly win at Wrexham and then Peter Taylor took him to Selhurst Park on a season long loan. However, under new boss Neil Warnock, Idrizaj has been out of favour and has found himself in their reserve team. His last appearance for the Eagles first team was in a goalless draw away at Scunthorpe in November.

    # Meanwhile Lee Peltier is back at Melwood after a successful loan spell at Yeovil Town.

Anyone else think this is more to do with his bitterness to us than a reflection on the players ability

Threlfall will go back to Hereford and stay for the rest of the season.

Taken from the BBC rumours roundup thingy -

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has blasted Rafael Benitez for refusing to allow loanee Besian Idrizaj to return to Anfield. (The Star)

Why would Rafa REFUSE to let Idrazaj return to Anfield?! Makes no sense!!
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Possibly because Sheffield United are paying his wages. Whatever the case is it seems unlikely he will be making a career for himself with us now it would seem.

Xerez has ended Miki Roques loan deal. He played just one match for them. Roque will probably be loaned our to another spanish club, if not he`ll return to Anfield.
This doesn`t look promising for him IMO, Xerez are bottom of the league and he only got one game.

relegation candidates are dangerous teams to loan players to, the managers like to keep things tight and not tinker too much, it's happened plenty of times before with loaned players. I doubt we'll see him back at anfield.

Hasn't played since November, and I don't think he's scored for them either.

Been in the papers with week that Warnock is trying to send him back to Anfield but Rafa won't have any of it. Warnock's probably doing it on purpose to wind Rafa up :whatever:

Chester City are hoping to sign Liverpool striker Craig Lindfield on loan providing they can fit him in with the wage capping.

Lindfield, a key player in the Reds youth team victories in 2006 and 2007 has yet to make a first team appearance at Anfield but is very highly regarded at the club.

Rafa Benitez and his staff are keen for the 19-year-old to gain more first team experience following on from a loan spell earlier this season at Notts County.

City are hopeful of signing the England Under 19 international ahead of Saturday's trip to Notts County but must thrash out terms with Liverpool which will see Lindfield fit in with City's tight wage capping structure.

"We're hoping to complete the signing of Craig Lindfield," owner Stephen Vaughan told the Chronicle.

"We have got to overcome the salary management cap, but if we can do that he will join us on loan until the end of the season."

Liverpool youngster Robbie Threlfall has extended his loan spell at Hereford United until May 31, while striker Craig Lindfield has joined Chester City until February 17.

Threlfall has proved to be a popular figure at Edgar Street since his move in November and they have an FA Cup fourth round tie at home to Cardiff City to look forward to.

Meanwile, Lindfield is in his second loan spell of the season following a month at Notts County. He joins former Reds Richie Partridge and John Welsh at the Deva Stadium.

didn't a similar thing happen with Mellor a couple of years ago - we sent him to West Ham for the season and he came back early due to injury, when we tried to play him in a reserve game, we were refused permission by the FA as it was a "SEASON LONG LOAN"
