It's been an excellent summer in terms of signings and Heinze will make it a perfect one. I think our squad is strong in every department now and there is no need for anyone else. Once Babel settles down I think all the calls for a WoRlD ClAsS WiNgEr will look foolish.

What do you think of Rafas spending so far this summer?

Well, I think he is decent enough, but not good enough to improve our teamOriginally posted by thekop View PostCare to tell me why matey! although, i respect your opinion mate of course
And he is no winger, which is what I thought we needed more.
So, I think the money used for signing him could have been spent on a winger instead.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

I've been pretty happy by our summer spending, althought must admit i think i expected a little bit more, maybe 1 other big signing on the wings.
Would have liked to have kept Garcia instead of Benayoun, I just don't see him making the same contribution as little Luis did.
I think the only positions we are light in are the wings and possibly CB.
LW we have Kewell and Leto, one badly needs to prove his fitness, and the other I don't think is expected to play a great deal this season.
RW we have Pennant and Babel, one still needs to prove he belongs in our team imo and the other maybe isn't quite the winger we expected.
Heinze will probably solve our CB cover issue and provide some top quality opposition for our other left backs assuming we get him.
Just feel we are lacking the winger that good have seen us sky rocket this season.Thomas Hicks Senior

Personally I think we should have got Alvez. People are clamouring for this ‘world class’ winger guy who will make an instant impact on the squad. I don’t see anyone who fits the bill. Why are people so desperate to sign said player. I guess it’s to help break down the teams that put 11 players behind the ball, and we struggle to break down? If you look at the impact that Aurelio had before he got injured you can see the difference a genuine attacking full back can make in these situations. Aside from this, watch how much space Riise gets in most of these games, but lacks the technical ability to turn the opportunity into a genuine chance, apart from the occasional rocket goal. Alvez would provide a much harder to negate option than the said winger (assuming he plays at full back). I would have gone all out to get him, maybe selling Sissoko and a.n. other to finance the acquisition.

What at 25 mill pounds? No we should of stayed far away. He is not worth that investment and it sounds like it ay be more!Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Best time to judge would be Xmas or May next year. Especially players like Babel and Torres who will need bedding in to our style of play
We needed to step forward 3-4 steps this year. We`ve probably stepped forward 1-2 steps - we are better, but enough to win the league ?
I guess we`ll see. Dont buy into this net spend stuff - we signing fees, agents fees et al and also the Americans funding a new stadium, they have spent some wedge of cashWe need better attacking players!
Torres aint enough
