I like the idea of giving the seats away for free to schools.

Another possible idea could be to have 96 mapped out in white seats, like the LFC sign in the Kop or the Adidas sign in the main stand, so that the symbol of respect can be seen when you enter the stadium.
They could make the seats a different colour and have a little rope on either side so no one walks through

I thought the idea was to leave the seats empty in the shape of the number 96? If that's the case the club could possibly find quite hard to fence the area off.

I do think it's a great idea though because the fans who were victims of the disaster need to be remembered and having the seats empty would serve as a good tribute.

Deffo think its a good idea but it would deffo kick off every week when some gob****e with a liverworld bag and all his little badges and hats and scarves and stuff sits in one of the seats.

ooohhhh i had not heard or read that bit, i think a row of 96 would be better and more practical. Front row of one of the stands.

That would be the only way it could work tbh. Then if anyone DID sit in the seat he would be well deserving of the flurry of hooks that came the pricks way

Yeah I read that today. One of my mates at work reads the Daily Mirror and he pointed the story out to me. Someone from the Hillsborough Justice Campaign had suggestsed this so that the tribute would be seen even when the stadium was full rather than having an empty row. Although having a row of empty seats does seem to be a more practical idea.

The seats could be a dif colour with a name on. Then no one would have an exscuse in sitting there.

God help them if they did.

Having a name on the seat is a good idea.

my thoughts too. i'm not sure i'd like to be sat next to a cluster of empty seats really and i don't mean that disrespectfully obviously.

i think there will be better ways of building a memorial in the new stadium. i agree that its great that the club are giving this some serious thought though.

i just don't like the form that is being talked about at the mo.

Nice one, still think a row would be better. It would be hard to notice the empty seats when the ground is full.

I heard a story before about 96 lights from old Anfield to new Anfield

good idea, on balance i think the lad (rushian) from RAWK has proabably got the germ of a good idea as well.

Rushian on RAWK had a good idea that 96 seats should be free and should be given to different local schools each match. That's a better idea IMHO as it gives something to the community rather than just making a statement
My feeling too Paul. It would be horribly eerie and uncomfortable in my view.
