I'm not worrying one bit. Reina would never leave here to challenge at 4 competitions have a great career here than play for an overratted team that don't do anything qualified for Europe once in the last 10 years. He'd be off his nut. Last year when he was linked to Valencia he said he was happy here, if he wasn't interested in Valencia a much better club than Atleti I don't see why he' want back to Spain.

Also, he gives much more confidence to the defence. The improvement in Reina from that debut against Boro is amazing.Originally posted by The Glove View PostBut he plays almost as a sweeper and is quick out of his area meaning the rest can play higher up the pitch which encourages more attacking style of play.

His distribution is the best I have seen in many years for a goalkeeper - better than many defenders. 9 times out of 10 he picks out a team mate and we are not talking 5 yard balls to the closest unmarked defender here, usually somebody hugging the touchline near the half way line
I think the fact he sweeps up so well is why our defenders are so much more confident. You could see us getting caught out when Jerzy filled in last year or even Carson before that as defenders expected him to come racing out to deal with balls over the top which most other keepers don't anticipate as wellAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

Agree- at his age, he could be our 1st choice keeper for the next 8 years. Irreplacable.Originally posted by AFII View PostReina is the reason to why we can play the attacking football that we now do. If we replace him with Carson then we would also need to play more defensive.
I think myself that Reina is our most important player and he is now probably the most complete keeper in the world. When he first joined us he didn't dominate the box but now he is dominating it without any problems at all.
He is also one of the best, if not the best keeper to start a quick attack, he throws or kicks the ball 50-60 yards without any problem to a player with excellent precision.
He is excellent on the line, excellent at penalties, excellent ball control and excellent organizing the defense.
In short, he is the most complete keeper in the world and will get even better.
I wouldn't even sell him for £30m because we can't replace him and keep playing the way we do.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.
