And again, if we are talking 'links' with the Sun then people should boycott the likes of Sky too.Originally posted by Pacman View PostWithout wanting to rake through old ground why only perceived links with the Sun? I can see that argument but why isn't the sun published on a Sunday? Surely if the NOTW and the Sun were in competition with each other then we would have a Sunday Sun? After all it's probably the one day of the week when the most papers are sold.Originally posted by Red_hot View PostAnd again, if we are talking 'links' with the Sun then people should boycott the likes of Sky too.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

IMHO, if you include NOTW as part of the Sun, then you have to include the rest of the murdock stable.
Traditionally the Sunday papers have their own editors and are independent of the Dailys.
IIRC Traditionally The People has been seen as the Sunday version of the Daily Mirror, rather than the Sunday Mirror itself.
Now if it had been the Daily Mirror that had made the allegations, would you be boycotting the Sunday Mirror or The People?

If I just buy out a number of companies and nominate a managing director for each and tell them to run them as they wish without me interfering (apart from looking at my bottom line & profits), does that make it the same set of companies ?Originally posted by Pacman View PostWithout wanting to rake through old ground why only perceived links with the Sun? I think this stuff is getting ridiculous to the extreme. Either people are too obdurate and can't understand nuances between these fine 'technicalities' or they're arsing about with no added substance other than spouting out venom based on a sensitive issue.

Fair point however there is a Sunday Mirror and Sunday People but there is no Sunday Sun.Originally posted by corf View PostIMHO, if you include NOTW as part of the Sun, then you have to include the rest of the murdock stable.

Stop trying to look clever Fredo mate. I can't see much venom being spouted on this thread just people having a discussion. If you don't like the discussion don't contribute.Originally posted by fredo View PostIf I just buy out a number of companies and nominate a managing director for each and tell them to run them as they wish without me interfering (apart from looking at my bottom line & profits), does that make it the same set of companies ?

Best piece of advice to give to anybody as regards to this thread. If you all want to continue turning in circles then so be it. I'm out of this thread and all things Hillsborough, The S*N etc ... in the future.Originally posted by Pacman View PostStop trying to look clever Fredo mate. If you believe that the building they are based in is proof then you had best boycott all news group companies. As stated in the paragraph above The Times is based their along with NOTW and S*n. There are ots of buildings around the country that have several companies based in them, this does not make them the same company.Originally posted by News OF The World View PostNews Group Newspapers Limited, Times Newspapers Limited, News Magazines Limited, The Times Literary Supplement Limited, NI Free Newspapers Limited and Milkround Online Limited are part of the News International Limited Group of companies whose registered address is 1 Virginia Street, London, E98 1XY.

Sorry mate.
Just did some further reading and something did strike me:
News Group Newspapers Limited, Times Newspapers Limited, News Magazines Limited, The Times Literary Supplement Limited, NI Free Newspapers Limited and Milkround Online Limited are part of the News International Limited Group of companies whose registered address is 1 Virginia Street, London, E98 1XY.
The Times is a seperate limited company as are the rest and owned by news international. The bit in bold - 1 company "news group newspapers limited" which only ownes 2 publications which are The S*n and the NOTW. This company is then owned by news international but in contradiction to my argument it is one company and doesn't include any other paper or company.

.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
