I can see that argument but why isn't the sun published on a Sunday? Surely if the NOTW and the Sun were in competition with each other then we would have a Sunday Sun? After all it's probably the one day of the week when the most papers are sold.

IMHO, if you include NOTW as part of the Sun, then you have to include the rest of the murdock stable.

Traditionally the Sunday papers have their own editors and are independent of the Dailys.

IIRC Traditionally The People has been seen as the Sunday version of the Daily Mirror, rather than the Sunday Mirror itself.

Now if it had been the Daily Mirror that had made the allegations, would you be boycotting the Sunday Mirror or The People?

If I just buy out a number of companies and nominate a managing director for each and tell them to run them as they wish without me interfering (apart from looking at my bottom line & profits), does that make it the same set of companies ?

I think this stuff is getting ridiculous to the extreme. Either people are too obdurate and can't understand nuances between these fine 'technicalities' or they're arsing about with no added substance other than spouting out venom based on a sensitive issue.

If you believe that the building they are based in is proof then you had best boycott all news group companies. As stated in the paragraph above The Times is based their along with NOTW and S*n. There are ots of buildings around the country that have several companies based in them, this does not make them the same company.

The Times is a seperate limited company as are the rest and owned by news international. The bit in bold - 1 company "news group newspapers limited" which only ownes 2 publications which are The S*n and the NOTW. This company is then owned by news international but in contradiction to my argument it is one company and doesn't include any other paper or company.
