If you really believe it to be true, then you must think Carra was almost as likely to choose to write for The S*n? I don't believe that for a second.

There is a huge difference to me. If I see someone with the S*n wearing a pool shirt I can become incensed, in the end I tend to have a quiet word. If I see someone in a pool shirt with the NOTW though, I just think 'another person reading a ****ing gutter rag'. Same as I do if I see people reading other rags like The Star, which incidentally was initially included in the boycott but excluded from it after they made an apology IIRC.

That said, I do think the links between the two papers are a bit too close for comfort. It's not just that they are owned by the same company, if it were just that then The Times would or should be equally despised and as people have pointed out Sky would too. The thing is the connection is that little bit more than having the same owner, they are sister papers, they work to support each other in a much closer way than say Sky and The S*n do.

I think the absolute must for anyone that supports the Hillsborough Justice Campaign is to boycott The S*n. The NOTW is a grey area for me, I would never touch it because it's a ****rag so that decision is taken off my hands. Being aware of the close links between the papers and a knowledge of how these kind of rags operate, I have no decision to make. But not everyone is like that. I have formed my impressions of Carra on what he has done over many many years, and I will not let this one grey area decision radically affect my judgement of him, especially when I have little or no knowledge of with what understanding, intention, and reasoning he made this decision.

point taken on the sky thing Although Sky and the S*n are blatently in league with each other

Perhaps the way to go about this would be for fans who feel strongly about this write letters to the club and let them know how dissapointed they are that one of our players is writing for the NOTW.

Gerrard had his autobiography excluseively serialised in NOTW and I don't remember him being slated.

        Perhaps I missed that though.

Poll Question : Who thinks Carra should be slaughtered?

                            obviously the s*n omitted.
Well, questions can convey opinions too. e.g. If I said 'why the **** should I touch your willy?' then it would be fair for you to assume I didn't think I should.

The thing is, if you're going to omit the S*n from that then you're saying it does matter. Some people feel the links between the two are well established and close enough that it should be boycotted. Which is up to them. Personally I don't think they should get so upset about it, it is a grey area after all. I boycott Nestle because they aggressively market baby milk formula in third world countries to people not suited to it resulting in the deaths of many, but I don't think everyone who doesn't boycott them is a ****. It's just a combination of awareness and opinions, people cant always think the same.

I don't use either forum so I can't really comment on that to be honest. I'm a match goer and I'm there ost weeks and never once did I hear Stevie slated for it.
