answered your own question there mate.

They did print it yes, but they also were very quick to PUBLICLY apologize for believing the word of a corrupt sheffield copper without bothering to check the facts before going to print.

Although I have no real desire to be facetious in this thread, but also being unable to get actually involved in the interest of maintaining an appearance of moderator objectivity can I just point out that The Sunday Sun is infact a newspaper published in Newcastle by the Mirror group, so you are all wrong. Every last one of you

OK so who is your boycott affecting?

is it affecting Kelvin McKenzie (the c-unt)?.......... the author of the "TRuth"

        is it affecting Rupert Murdoch?

Obviously virtually all the staff that were on the paper in 1989 have probably moved on

k sales of the s*n are still down 30% on pre Hillsborough, The NOTW's circulation has remained fairly constant in that time the Star after an initial downturn recovered to its former level

so just who is your boycott affecting?
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

I agree with your argument, i for one have always regarded the NOTW to be the sunday s*n and have been brought up to not buy the paper because of this reason. Putting it in simple terms, if the daily mirror published 'the truth' article back in 1989 there would be a boycott of the paper, and most people would also refuse to buy the sunday mirror, regardless of the different editors, simply becuause of the obvious links between the two papers.

I cant see why people dont see the obvious here, that being just becuase it has a different name that they are not the same paper, because the are.

would you buy it/accept carra's decision if next week if it re-branded as 'the sunday sun' but kept the same editors and staff etc? i doubt it...

on the other side of the argument however we have to accpet the descion of the HJC, if they have accepted carra's decision to write for that paper then so be it, we can whinge and moan all we want but what can we do...realistically nothing can be done there is no boycott of the NOTW officially but going back to coops' argument there is a general boycott in liverpool to the NOTW and carra is wrong in his decision as he KNOWS the trouble it will cause amongst liverpool fans...dont doubt that. if anything that is what he is wrong for, causing the controversy in the first place with the knowlegde that it would upset a lot of people in liverpool

just because i don't agree with you doesn't mean i don't understand the argument.

i can appreciate why coops, revo, and alot of scousers feel the way they do about this, and i respect their opinions.

was the NOTW the sunday *** to you last month? i doubt it. you've latched onto a side, fair enough, but all this :whoosh: patronizing bull**** you've got going is unnecessary. i guess i am just supposed to agree with you

I think people are too stupid to just ignore what a player does or not. It's their life FFS. Just support the club and shut the **** off, that's not our problem.

FFS, people need to relax a bit here.

The are clearly not the same paper, the only common traits are that Murdoch owns them, and they are both ****e.

Some people just gotta moan. How many times/threads do we gotta put up with - NOT the same paper, grow up. Jesus do you people honestly think Carra or any other player would write for them if they were???

Given that I think my statement stands.

Unless of course you have a better perspective on scouse feelings from Mexico than does for examples coops!

Not true, the S*n's circulation in Liverpool is virtually zero whereas the NOTW does perfectly well. You would struggle to find the S*n in most newsagent but the NOTW is treated normally. The boycott is not against news international, if people cannot get thier heads round that then Stevie better not get interviewed after the Sky live games, no more LFC in the Times? where does it stop?

dont be such a ****ing dick.
lets be honest here, none of us on here matter, unless we had some connection to hillsborough, our opinion doesnt really hold any water, altho as fans were entitled to one.

the people who matter are those who were directly involved and the HJC,who have so far not put a carpet boycott on everything that has connections with the s*n,it is just the s*n.

are those people living in an ivory tower, ignoring all the people of merseyside, who think this is a betrayal?

id also like some numbers tbh.
since your from liverpool, what number of people feel betrayed,is it the majority or just a tiny number?
You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.

I can't believe people still don't believe the NOTW is the Sunday Sun

I also can't believe we're having the same discussion/argument as we did on Bascombe

                              (FWIW I don't have a problem with Carra, other than it's a **** newspaper)

People need to find some important things to get worked up about. That, or thank God that the things that rile them are as trivial and petty as whether or not to feign concern for the Hillsborough victims every time th NOTW is mentioned. Seriously, this misplaced campaign, now directed at Carra ffs, helps nobody, does nothing to respect the dead and is driven purely by self richeousness.
