I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?

Pretend I'm dim (not much of a stretch I know), so explain. The Bascombe thread made it pretty clear that your average scouser despises the NOTW almost as much as the Sun.

Given that I think my statement stands.

Unless of course you have a better perspective on scouse feelings from Mexico than does for examples coops
          Firstly, I am a scouser.

I am not going to read the whole thread but I will re-iterate what I said on the Bascombe thread.

I lost my 19 year old cousin at Hillsborough and have only ever boycotted The ***.

IMO that is the only paper that should be boycotted. NOTW is in the same group as The *** but too me that's it. Yes you will find *** adverts on NOTW website but that is because it's in the same group of papers (call it a sister paper if you like). Sky run adverts for the *** and is owned by Murdoch, you going to boycott that?

I can understand why some people get their back up but I for one see them as different.

Sorry to hear about your cousin. I agree completely with you, I guarantee a lot of the lads who are saying boycott the NOTW are sky subscribers

I think these type of issues should be talked about by Scousers only.
They really know the ins and outs of it and relate better to it than out of towners. It must be infuriating to see people passing comment on it when they are not in touch with it compared to the man on the street in Liverpool.I'm irish and cant begin to imagine the emotion this stirs up.
With all the crap going on off the pitch with Pako and now this stuff,I just hope it does not effect us on the field.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
                everyone wants to know

                      Have I missed something here?

This thread seems to have become totally about personal attacks.

Sorry but that was not a personal attack on any individual.

I just agreed on the point that I believe many of those who have criticised Carra are Sky subscribers, thats all.

ah, got it now. It's a difficult one though, to some of the people they see the NOTW as the sunday s*n, but no link to sky. I say let people follow their personal beliefs. I am from Liverpool and know that most people in Liverpool do not see this link but these people are entitled to do what they see fit. I will always follow the lead of the families, if they say they want people to boycott then I would.

I think people are missing the point.

From what I can see people are debating whether the NOTW is in fact the Sunday S*n or if it's a separate paper all together. I don't understand why the S*n isn't published on a Sunday when it's probably the most profitable day of the week?

It is published on a Sunday. Under the name NOTW.

As for Sky...it wasn't even around in '89. If I turned on SSN now and saw them stating what the *** had then my subscription would be dropped immediately.

Just found this thread and so I haven't read everything, but I'd imagine that this post is the best one in it.

And this is probably the worst.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.
