I just agreed on the point that I believe many of those who have criticised Carra are Sky subscribers, thats all.

They're not hypocrites. They just choose to draw a line between Sky and the News of the World. Just because you see it differently doesn't make them hypocrites because there is no objective standard by which you're right about it and they're wrong.

There's a lot of crap on this thread, too many are too quick to point the finger and almost everyone seems to think there's only one way of looking at the issue which, surprise surprise, just so happens to be their way. It's enough to give the Internet a bad name.

Mine wasn't a personal attack at all, I was talking about what you wrote not you as an individual. However, you labelled people 'hypocrites' so you are talking about them as individuals. I don't see how that can be construed in any way other than a personal attack.

By the way, I wasn't taking the hypocrite allegation personally since I don't actually boycott the News of the World (although I don't read it either).

Firstly, I am a scouser.

I am not going to read the whole thread but I will re-iterate what I said on the Bascombe thread.

I lost my 19 year old cousin at Hillsborough and have only ever boycotted The ***.

IMO that is the only paper that should be boycotted. NOTW is in the same group as The *** but too me that's it. Yes you will find *** adverts on NOTW website but that is because it's in the same group of papers (call it a sister paper if you like). Sky run adverts for the *** and is owned by Murdoch, you going to boycott that?

I can understand why some people get their back up but I for one see them as different.

excuse me but one or two of us was there that day carrying bodies off the pitch and still carry the scars with us today. who the **** do you think you are telling us to get down off our high horse and who the **** do you think you are telling us we are hypocritical. for starters you have no ****ing idea of the hatred that SOME people carry over the two rags. stop hiding behind this sky telly bull****. there is an unwritten code amongst many many scousers that the notw goes hand in hand with the sun(fact) the notw is not boycotted(fact) but many many scousers adhere to the unwriten code of noy buying or reading the notw. when 2 of our own bascombe and carra, in many many peoples hearts break that code there is going to be discord and anger. you need to acknowledge how many many scousers feel instead of dismissing us with your easy to throw out there words.
