Players that did start didn't want it enough though. As i've already said - Pompey were there for the taking. They looked suspect in defence.

When Chelsea were winning there two leagues they had 8or9 players who were very rarely rested in the team weekly and 2or3 rotating and the Mancs did the same last year with Scholes and Giggs being rested at times.
They suffered at the end of the year with fatigue in europe though plus the fact the Chelsea met us
I'm all for rotation but leaving two players in Gerrard and Torres out who can turn a game is crazy, especially away in London.

All of the big 4 have about 3 PROPER matchwinners. Players who have a spark, make things happen. Ours are SG, Torres and Babel.

United have Rooney, Ronaldo and arguably Tevez.

Chelsea have Drogba, Lampard and (imo) Malouda.

Arsenal have RvP and Fabregas.

It was an utterly ****e performance, Pompey were there for the taking but we didn't have the balls or intelligence to pass the ball about, instaed we just hoofed it long at every opportunity.
