Is this some sort of f**king joke?

Apologies if this has been noticed before but I can't actually believe it!

After feeling pretty down this weekend after Liverpool could not raise themselves to beating Pompey, it really bugged me and can really sympathise that Rafa has been moaning about the lack of time to prepare his teams after a midweek international (i.e. players come back to club late on Thurs, can’t do much with them, Fri morning, light work as they’re still not 100% and then travel in afternoon to away match and then play Sat midday!). No time to properly prepare and an advantage to teams playing later in the day, the Sunday or even just at home (all the other top teams on other words). I can really sympathise with Rafa and feel Liverpool are being penalised and understand why Rafa’s pissed with it.

This started at the last England Wednesday match against Germany when we were away against Sunderland Saturday midday, and happened this weekend.

So, I just thought I’d look forward to the next internationals and guess ****ing what?

Here is a list of Wednesday Internationals for England (obviously a day of full international fixtures) and Liverpool’s game afterwards:

    Weds 22nd August – Eng v Germany - - - Sat 25th August – Sunderland v Liv – 12.45 ko.

    Weds 12th Sept – Eng v Russia - - - Sat 15th Sept – Portsmouth v Liv – 12.45 ko.

    Weds 17th Oct – Russia v Eng - - - Sat 20th Oct – Everton v Liv – 12.45 ko.

    Weds 21st Nov – Eng v Croatia - - - Sat 24th Nov – Newcastle v Liv – 12.45 ko.

Does this strike anyone else as being slightly more than a coincidence and a little unfair. No wonder Rafa is fuming!!!!!! 4 tough early Sat ko away games after each set of internationals!!!!!!

    It certainly seems very unfair.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I have recognised this pattern and so has that bearded Spaniard at Melwood.

        It's an absolute ****ing joke.

Ferguson is very quick to say United have had more lunchtime kick-offs over the last five years, but who cares about five ****ing years ago? It's pretty obvious we had by far the most last season and it's carried on this.

        Patently unfair.

The Scum Arse and ourselves all had away fixtures early on Sat, granted both the Arse and Scum were only down the road.
Also looking at that the Derby is hardly an away fixture but it is still and early kick off after an international.
I do appreciate why Rafa is unhappy and I'm glad he's making noise.
What are the others facing after Internationals

Cool, plenty of away games on the telly for me to just roll out of bed to watch.

Simple question: Why do we accept it. Surely we have to agree to ko times

That IS a ****in joke - is there no way the fixtures can be changed if we put in some kind of appeal?

The one which stands out is the Pompey one. Travelling down there for a 12:45 KO is a bit OTT.

The others are reasonable though, not too much travelling.

But according to some Rafa has no right to complain and should shut the **** up.

Money. It brings in lots more cash for us and whoever we play, thats why 'lesser' clubs will happily agree to be shifted about the place. The Derby is always going to be on the telly tho.

I actually knew the answer. Thats why I see little point in Rafa complaining when the money men at the club are the ones he should be ranting at.

Not too much travelling? We have to go to the 3 most distant grounds in those fixtures - Newcastle, Sunderland and Portsmouth.

All of these will require travelling the day before the match thereby robbing us of even more time to prepare the players. At least if you have a localish away match you can travel on the day of the game and get in another training session the day before.

Sunderland and Newcastle aren't that far, something like 200 miles. That's not far IMO.
