It hasn't helped in the past 'cos we've not been good enough. We're better now than in any of those previous seasons, so being good in March this time around will help us.

We've been out of the title race by more like October. Clearly that won't happen this season.

Nope, the FA Cup final was the weekend before it.

Im not that convinced to be honest. We are one of the most marketable teams so surely they'd be up our arses cos we'd bring them oney in.

If they were to play on Sunday, that is a different matter. But surely whatever time you kick on Saturday will have the same net effect.
You can have a light session and you have a huge amount of time to get the tictacs right. 1st thing in the morning gives you no time at all

You think? I'm no expert but a teamtalk about tactics surely couldn't last more than an hour. Players would be switching off after that (if not before).

I'm not aware of any light sessions taking place on the day of a game either, but somebody might be else may be able to shed some light on that.
          Oh I don't know.

The difference is that you don't have to travel on friday and can therefore get a training session in.

****ing joke about the rotation **** and the fitness nonsense. the ****ing mancs won the league last year because they had a little bit of luck and always played their strongest 11 when available but most of all they won it with the style of play and with the mindset of always going for it. most of the ****ers on here all spout the same **** about settling for a point before the game when the mancs and chelsea actually come to anfield looking to win the game. this is the mentallity it takes of a champion. if your playing well week in and week out who gives a **** about kick offs and travel? you cant wait to get on the pitch. sunderland, pompie everton and newcastle are 12 points up for grabs anything less than 10 is simply not championship material. that means we need to go to goodison and st james and win to get the 10 points. **** all the complaining, stop babying these ****ers, when they play **** say they play **** and when they play well say they played well. the manager most of all needs to get the **** after it and stop with the merrygoround in his head.

I think Chelsea came to Anfield this season looking for a point after all when we brought Crouch on and had Torres, Babel, Kuyt and Crouch on for the last 15 mins they took a forward off for a defender. I agree with your post to a certain extent Revo but sometimes you have off days and I think Saturday was one of them. I do think that the team he put out was better than Portsmouths and had enough to win the game they just didn't play as well as they should of done.

At the end of the day a point is more we got from the same fixture last season. As for the early kick off's I agree with Rafa we seem to have them all the time after international matches and with players like Gerrard who had just a couple of weeks of with a broken toe and then was expected to play 3 games in a week (if he would of started on Saturday) then the mind might of been willing but the body might not of been able.

the team that started against derby with the inclusion of carra should of picked itself ian and should of continued to do so until loss of form or injury.

Stevie never played against Derby though Revo and Mascher played on the Wednesday against Australia in Australia so he couldn't play. In hindsight I would of started all the big guns but I must admit when I saw the team I thought it was strong enough to win.
