I think we'll see our best line up tomorrow and to be honest maybe Saturday might make Rafa realise that you can rotate certain players but the big guns, the match winners need to play week in week out. I think we've dodged a bullet some what and I hope we learn from it.

our strongest team should have started imo against portsmouth, then start our strongest team against porto followed by our strongest team against brum... and when we are 3-0 up against brum after 60 mins then take players off and rest them ??????

It's also good for the Oceana region. In Australia the early KO's start at 9.45pm on a Saturday night so you always get a decent crowd watching. Obviously thats of little comfort to anyone travelling to Pompey away but I'd say we were a lot better supported over here than anyone else.

The adidas shop in Melbourne has a massive Liverpool display in the window which, when you consider football has to contend with AFL and two codes of rugby, is pretty good. So one way or another we're getting plenty of exposure and making some money in the process.

Personally I dont mind the earlies. When I'm at home i dont get to go to the game much anyway so it means an early pint and a full brekkie down the pub.

I think rotation has definite benefits but it has to be done the right way. To me, playing a front 4 of Voronin, Crouch, Pennant and Benayoun whilst also resting your best player in a tough away game is not really so much rotation as shooting yourself in the foot. That's not hindsight, plenty of people raised eyebrows at the lineup before KO. It left us toothless, obviously if we'd have won there wouldn't be a problem now, but I'd still have disagreed with the selection. I sometimes feel Rafa places too much emphasis on fitness in making selections. You have to make sure you have the right balance in the team, it's no good losing quality in that many key positions for the accompanying increase you get in match fitness.

I don't know what games you were watching but Man U never come to Anfield looking to win. Last season they did indeed get the result but they played one up front, packed the midfield, scarcely had an attack and generally bored the arse off anyone watching. They employed identical avoid-defeat-at-all-costs tactics in the FA Cup game at Anfield that they lost and in the league game at Anfield the previous season when they again hardly crossed the half-way line and scraped a 0-0 draw.

Chelsea's so-called "looking for a win" attitude that you see isn't borne out by the facts. They only mustered one shot on target at Anfield this season - a wrongly-awarded penalty

It is not the money men but TV.

Once the fixtures are made, the TV companies then chosse the matches they are going to show. The club has no option but to agree.

It is only in circumstances like CL or cup competition that games can be moved.

Also, the chances of a 12:45, 5:15, 1:00 or 4:00 match being move is very slim. Only 3:00 matches can be moved in most cases.

Do you think that that is what he tells his players behind closed doors or it is just Rafa's way of getting the "excuses" or the "it is the world against us" mentallity into his teams? I think it is the later.

Also, the team that played at Pompey underperformed. That team is good enough to beat them any day. I would say that it was the best team for that match.
