Never stopped Rafa.Originally posted by DJS View PostOh...and Crouch/Voronin together up front would be painfully slow...
The Crouch/Morientes partnership must've been one of the slowest ever, but Rafa persisted with it. In fact Kuyt/Voronin on Saturday was another painfully slow partnership - not that Saturday's performance was a good advert. In fact, any permutation of our 'other three' strikers (excluding Torres of course) is a slow one.
Not much we can do...we're stuck with 'em.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

You know, i think the arrival of Torres and the explosive start he's had has raised the bar considerably, when it comes to strikers. We've seen first hand what a TOP striker looks like and having had to wait for so long to do so, a lot of us had forgotten. Now we've seen it, the other three just dont match up.

Hobbs and Sami are too similar. I'd prefer Hobbs to start but we don't really have a "last man standing" like carra for the reserves. San Jose, maybe, but haven't seen enough of him and everyone else is on loan (apart from the 4' 1" SpearingOriginally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostWhat do we think?
I'd go:
Itandje
Arbeloa
Hobbs
Hyypia
Aurelio
Benayoun
Sissoko
Lucas
Leto
Crouch
Voronin
Subs: Martin, Insua, El Zhar, Putterill, Linfield
Summat like that anyway. I'd like to see Insua start but Aurelio needs a game, and Leto is almost certain to start on the left side of midfield.
)
We need to squeeze Insua in somewhere as well, of all the reserves he is the closest to being ready for the first team so needs to be given the chance. Fabio can get his match fitness in the first team coming off the bench.
Plessi instead of Momo and need to fit Lindfield in there somewhere.
The line up will be interesting, we should be able to tell what is most important to Rafa, based on the line up he selects.
1/ Progression of the younger players (like my lineup), or,
2/ Winning the competition.
I hope he goes for 1/The Crushing Machine MKII

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I would play him in the PL instead. I doubt that any involved players will start the next league game.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostLucas HAS to play.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
