    Victory over Wigan

Frustrating performance IMO but we can still manage to get a win.

This type of game wins you the league. Play fairly badly, miss chances, yet can scrape a narrow win. We couldnt do this in recent years when Utd and Chelsea were doing in week in week out.

Torres played well in the first half but was nowhere in the 2nd. Kuyt, Riise and Stevie G were woeful. Benny comes on and wins us the match

I think that we miss Alonso alot but Agger just as much. Agger controls a lot of passing from the back and we couldnt see that today

I'm not happy with the performance but if we can scrape a few more wins like this then I think we will be the happiest fans come May
Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

          1- Benny.

2 - Showing we can grind out results away from home.

3 - No moaning from the usual suspects

The difference between this game and the last two is that an individual's piece of magic helped us where team work failed us.

The problem remains the same. Rotation is a red herring, something is wrong with the midfield. Benayoun helped us a lot when he came on, we lacked some vision and creativity.

Looks like this year our problems are not going to be away from home, but at home........beating teams that come looking for a 0-0.

That was the most enjoyable moment, apart from the goal...

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

This again showed our problem with width. Benayoun coming inside where he's most effective (i.e. just behind the strikers) won us the game. Or wide players are just not creating enough. We need to sort it out in Jan once and for all. On a positive note, we've got our best chance to push for years, but the next 3 ganmes are key:
                            Spurs (home)
                            Bluesh*te (away)
                            Arsenal (home)

with an international break in the middle of that. We need to play a lot better in all those 3 games.

                              Benayoun, he changed the game.

I hope that Rafa don't play Riise as left back anymore. He was rubbish today.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
