          I like benny but im pretty ****ing sure that armed with the serious cash we now have I could pick ten better players fairly easily. No disrespect to the lad and id keep him as a great addition to our squad, but 1st team i dont think so.


          But thats in an ideal world obviously.....

            Fiar do`s fella. No doubt I could name 10,20 even 30 players who are individually more talented/eyecatching than him but I genuinely wanted yozzer and was deighted when we went after him and eventually got him because of what he can do for our team with our style of play.

            Yozzer was made for liverpool, especially with rafa`s style of play. All clever thinking and clever through balls. Proper intelligent footballer and proper liverpool player

                Glad to see him doing well, I was in favour of us signing him. He has that touch of genius about him i think. Hopefully he can kick on from this purple patch

                  i don't get this point of view. how many games does yossi start? not many. so he's a squad player, not a 1st choice (unless he's on good form as he seems to be now) which is kind of what you are saying he should be.

                  we could all pick 10 better players with unlimited/big budget, but how many can you name who would be happy with yossi's current squad status (and even he wants to play more which is a good thing in my book) who would cost what yossi did?

                    The problem I have with this stance on the matter is that we need more "first team" players than "squad" players. We shouldn't be signing guys because they are happy with not starting every game when we don't have established first-choice players in their position as it is.

                    There are very few players at the club who can say they deserve to start every game. We need more of them.

                        carra
                        agger
                        arbeloa (started most if not all games this season)
                        gerrard
                        alonso (i think he offers more than masher and will be straight back in as soon as he is fit)
                        torres

                        thats 8. the rest you can pick and choose to be honest, but a spine of 8 is a pretty solid start if you ask me

                        if:
                        masher and momo are out to oust stevie and xabi
                        pennnant and yossi are fighting it out for right wing
                        babel, JAR and Aureilo are fighting for left wing
                        crouch, crow and dirk are fighting to play with torres
                        and thats without taking the young brazilian and argie lads into account

                        then i think we're doing ok- first team and squad wise

                            My only issue with him is his lack of strength - it can be costly. It's a fine line - usually in games where you're getting kicked off the park, it's by 'lesser teams' who are getting everyone behind the ball - exactly the sort of game Yossi is made for. You want him in there to pick these teams apart, but there's a worry he gets knocked off the ball too easily. He's also prone to the odd anonymous game, but this happens to players of his ilk.

                            His touch is great though, he's a fantastic dribbler and can create something from nothing with lovely threaded through balls. His weight of passing is nearly always spot on. We don't have enough of those players and Yossi should now get a run in the side.

                              There was a chap on the ring in on Merseyside saying that Yossi is the first player since Beardsley who will do the business for us and win us the league. Whilst Im not sure I agree with that Yossi has done really well in his few games.
