I remember Paul Ince coming back to Anfield with Boro a few years ago and his every touch getting booed!
He also lost out in a tackle, expected the free-kick and didn't get it so thumped his fist in to the ground.....to much laughing from the Reds fans

Bless him, he wasnt great, nor too intelligent as a player. But a nice lad who gave his all and had passion for the club.

      Will rightly be applauded.

Can't see Cisse getting any though.
        Two entirely different situations though.

Djibs didn't fit the bill as a Rafa type player were St Mikey led us to believe he would stay but running his contract and hence his value down to the detriment of the club. Boo to you Mikey

Welcome back Djibs BUT DON'T SCORE OR YOU WILL BE BOO'D .
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Hmmm, not too sure about that. I agree he was neither great nor intelligent, Looked like a decent lad admittedly and probably was passionate about the club, but I don't think I'll go as far as to say he gave his all. There were times when he would stroll around the pitch with a chip on his shoulder - I remember the FA Cup Semi against Chelsea where he came on the last 5 mins and he offered us absolutely nothing, lack of effort, lack of fight, and yet he celebrated at the end as if he won the match single-handedly. I admire the determination with which he came back from those two horrific injuries, but I do think sometimes he let us down with this performances and effort.

I think he was garbage for us personally and came for an exhorbitantly high fee, but I dont hold that against him - you can't blame him for Houllier's errors. Some of the things he said about Rafa were pretty ungracious and indignant, uncalled for really, but again it was probably his passion for the club adn frustration and not being allowed to play for the reds. I'm more indifferent to Cisse than resentful - I'm glad he's gone, glad we've got some money for him, but have nothing against him and wish him the best (except on Wed obv).

I think he'll get a decent reception and rightly so - certainly doesn't deserve the treatment reserved for that **** Diouf.

Different situation but Owen was boo'ed,AF said we don't boo ex players, when given the situation we do.

Ciise tried his best and just wasn't up to it,although he scored alot of goals in his last season for us and playing out wide more often then not,but lets not open that can of worms!

I've never booed anyone and I certainly wouldn't start with him.

Cisse just wasn't good enough. End of. That certainly doesn't mean he will get booed. He'll get a decent reception I reckon. He seemed to genuinely love the club.

                              What waste of talent?

He'll go down in history as England's greatest ever goalscorer.

Which is all he's ever wanted.

Which, of course, is the whole point about Owen. He was never interested in Liverpool/Madrid/Newcastle, just Michael.
