Arrhhh but he also had an injury and couldn't run for the last 20mins but as soon as we won he was running round like a mad man.

Still would never boo him though.

Cisse seemed to be like that a lot, always reinvigorated by a victory when he spent the preceding hour of the game strolling around the pitch with a chip on his shoulder. I thought he was a disgrace for those 5 mins he was onin the Cup semi v Chelsea.

Having said that, I still don't think he should be booed, but I doubt I would cheer him either - I'm pretty indifferent towards him to be honest.

          From the Offal:

Djibril Cisse's dream of returning to haunt his old team at Anfield could be ruined by injury.
The French striker was unable to train until Monday afternoon and is a doubt to start against Liverpool on Wednesday.

Marseille manager Eric Gerets said: "Unfortunately he has had an injury so only practised yesterday. We will have to see if that is enough to start the game or come in as a substitute."

Meanwhile, the Belgian coach revealed he has sought advice from Cisse and Bolo Zenden on how to approach the game.

He joked: "It's important if you have two players who have played for Liverpool in the past, and I just hope the things they have told me are right, otherwise they will get a big punishment!"

Wednesday's fixture will be the first in charge for Gerets, who was appointed last week following the sacking of Albert Emon.

He added: "What a fantastic opportunity it is to start off your career here at Anfield against a team like Liverpool in the Champions League.

"They are one of the best teams in Europe with a top-draw manager who's proved himself with everything he's achieved in Europe. They deserve all of our respect."

Gerets was in charge of the Galatasary side that took on Liverpool in last year's Champions League.

            From the RSS story at the top of the page;

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has explained why former team-mate Djibril Cisse left the club to join Marseille.

Both teams will meet on Wednesday in the Champions League group stage at Anfield.

Gerrard has reflected on Cisse’s years as a Liverpool player for French daily L’Equipe. The England international has explained he and his team-mates were impressed by the attacker when he arrived.

The eccentric Cisse played for The Reds between 2004 and 2006 but injury problems and a bad relationship with Rafa Benitez forced him out of Anfield.

“Things where not good between Rafa [Benitez] and him,” said Gerrard.

“He needed to feel he was loved to get the best out of himself.

“I can imagine what his feelings will be [on Wednesday]. He will be eager to make people regret his departure.

“And I understand what he can do on a good day.

“I was surprised with his style as he always changed his eccentric clothes, cars, tattoos, hair styles.”

              also from the Offal:

CISSE: BOND WILL NEVER BE BROKEN

Marseille striker Djibril Cisse has revealed how he'll always share a special bond with the Anfield faithful.

The Frenchman returns to his former club tonight, though injury could restrict him to a place on the substitutes' bench.

It's not the first time he's been back to England since his summer move across The Channel, as he still owns a mansion in Frodsham, Cheshire.

Cisse has no intention of selling his second home and claims a piece of his heart will always remain on Merseyside.

He told LFC Magazine: "It was always my number one choice to stay, but you cannot always have what you want in football. I still have my house here and have no plans to sell, and I get back to the area whenever I can.

"I have so many good memories of my time here. The Champions League final, the Super Cup and FA Cup finals, I feel bonded to this club. The win in Istanbul was the highlight. It was such a crazy game and a crazy night. No player could ever forget that and I imagine the fans will always remember it.

"That is what bonds us, the players and the fans who were all there that night. It is something that will stay with me forever."
