Agree. He'd be rotated as much as the rest and he would be wondering about madrid.

I don't really see Heinze as a great impact player on the ball. As we have a quite solid defense I don't understand why you think that Heinze would have made a big difference.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

I wasnt saying it like that Mike it was more of if Heinze was with us would we be better? As Sami cant handle playing every week and we dont have a quality left back....

I know they had done their best to get him and it just wasnt possible.

we should have had cover, there are other players around, and plan b's
Referee Lubos Michel said: “If my assistant referee had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty, and sent off goalkeeper Petr Cech.”

Played against Nazio(Lazio ran rings around the whole Madrid defence), against Betis(Heinze was average again) and played against Almeria which he was taken off at HT for some reason, dunno whether it was because of his ****ness or because of another injury setback.

It simply wouldnt have been worth it, soon 30, so injury prone, slow and ex manc. £7m would have been a joke for someone like him.

What point though Foxy? I still don't understand, you yourself said we did everything we could to get him (and he hasn't been that good for Real so far either), what else where we supposed to have done? The signing was impossible. Not signing another defensive cover player - yes. Not signing Henize - no, it couldn't have happened. Move on?
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                    Mine angry and defrauded young?

He couldn't get in the Manc's side ahead of Evra, why would we want him?

Would've been good cover, but nothing more. Him not signing was far from a big loss.

it was a loss no doubt about that....rafa was kinda naive even to the point of him coming out to say that heinze was in the bag. a real slap in the face for rafa i say. made him look like a complete fool when the whole deal went tits up. havent we not learnt from previous experience not to leave it till the very last bit to engineer a transfer.
