If We Were To Sell Crouchy...

Who would you draft in to replace him?

Personally, i don't think we should be looking at similar strikers, i'd prefer us to sign a pacey striker, capable of creating their own chances.

I'd pick a name off this list:

    Robbie Keane
    Nicolas Anelka
    Goran Pandev
    Mario Gomez
    Lukas Podolski

    On the Ning Nang Nong
    Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
    There's a Nong Nang Ning
    Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
    On the Nong Ning Nang
    All the mice go Clang!
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
    So it's Ning Nang Nong!
    Cows go Bong!
    Nong Nang Ning!
    Trees go Ping!
    Nong Ning Nang!
    The mice go clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

As you say, someone who creates something from nothing, and someone who combines it with playing a bit deeper from time to time (seems to be what Rafa likes in his 2nd striker).

Berbatov would be nice! But not realistic.

I like the thought of Anelka and Torres linking up, but the truth is that Anelka doesn`t really `link` with anyone on or off the field. And I can just imagine his reaction to a rotation policy!

So in summary - no idea mate.

Unless Kuyt up his game I'd sell Crouch in Jan and Kuyt in June. Ashton, and dare I say Owen (for the money) would be my pick. Even Defoe over what we currently have in terms of goal threat / output. If we had big money to spend, Villa would be an obvious choice, maybe even Huntelaar.

At the moment the only person who really frightens defenders is Torres.

I reckon Viduka may not have been as bad a signing as others make out. Then again what about Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink?

If we sold Crouch in Jan I wouldn't replace him with a striker. I'd go out and buy a sh!t hot left winger. Why not play Babel up front in Crouch's place? And then in the summer I'd sell Kuyt while his value hasn't depreciated so much and break the bank for David Villa.

If it turns out that Rafa still wants another striker then Anelka would be my choice.

            Torres
            Villa
            Anelka
            Voronin/Babel

Only then would we strike fear into the hearts of the opposition.

I would replace him with a winger or a central defender.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Berbatov was the 1st name that came into my head.

Failing that i'd be looking at pushing Stevie either right or off Torres so sell Crouch and bring in a winger or stick with Maser and Alonso in the middle.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

i would also like to see an awesome left sided midfielder at the club - david silva maybe...

as for a direct replacement for crouch, i reckon we dont need one - torres, kuyt and voronin would be okay. I think it is a myth that every big club needs 4 strikers. ManU didnt need 4 last season. Also, although chelsea do have 4, take drogba out and they are ****ed....

also, if we do bring in another top class striker, then it will ultimately hinder the possible progress of daniel pacheta (or whatever his name is) martin pourie and gerardo bruna.......

i would prefer us to play with just torres up front anyway with alonso and mascher in the middle and gerrard given a free role behind fernando torres (with kuyt on one of the wings) we would have much more flexibility to change things during games without making substitutions. We wouldnt have lost 2 points v spurs
