    Lucas

I am not saying he is the second coming of kaka or anything but hats of to the lad for coming in such a crucial time of the match in a derby and making an impact.

Too many times I have been guilty of criticizing Rafa for not trusting the youngsters enough but it was a bold move on his part to trust Lucas in a derby environment. If Wenger had done it, every newspaper columnist would have been wanking over another gem uncovered by Arsene.

I think he is gonna handle lucas the same way he handled Agger. Give him around 6 months to settle into England and then slowly ease him into the squad.

What impressed me most was that immediately after he came on he munted Arteta and Jagielka.

Would like to see him start in midweek instead of Sissoko.

Hope so. It was a cool strike to win us the penalty. Well it was a goal really wasnt it. Riise has a similar chance and blasted over. He showed great composure to slot it in. Didnt look overawed by the occassion, got plenty of tackles in, passed the ball well, and got in the right place at the right time which is a great skill for a midfielder. Well done lad.

          Maybe better than Fabregas?

I think his all round game from what I have seen from him so far which is this game, Toulouse and reserves. He's got great vision, good range of passing, can attack and defend, can take a kicking.

Some of these qualities Fabregas does possess however I think Leiva has the physical abilities to become a better midfielder.

          Here's hoping!

What strikes me most about him is he is such a smart passer of the ball. Can definitely see Rafa slowly introducing Lucas into the team the way he did with Agger.

Lovely little footballer, needs to be bigger on the pitch though, in the carling cup against Reading he let Momo walk all over him should of stamped his authority on the game more.

Im looking forward to seeing him more, looks really good

You know if a young player is going to be good when Rafa is spending so much on them. He's just got to show him some gametime and hopefully we'll have a brazilian Stevie G on our hands

Very impressive performance. Deserved the winner. My MOM, well in lad.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Against Reading he looked like he needed a bit more time on the ball, today he got that because Everton were down to 10 men but he did use it quite well and was robbed for the penalty.

I think Phil Neville should publicly apologise to Lucas for denying hiim the goal. Will never happen though of course.

He seems to have superb all round skills and doesn't overdo a pass. That's a quality for a player so young.

                            Agreed.

And he seems to pick the right pass all the time, a bit like Scholes if I may dare to say to.
he is also good in finding space for himself and buying time on the ball, ala Alonso.

So to sum up he's a mixture of Gerrard, Kaka, Scholes and Alonso. Not bad.

Right im off to watch the egg chasers, and hang on in there Villa.
