I think it's clear why Rafa plays him now. He want Momo to be match fit so we can get a fair price for him in January.

If you look at Juventus central midfielders then Sissoko would walk into the starting XI straight away so the deal will probably happen.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If Rafa is doing that then he has effectively given up on winning the league as he is not playing in his mind his best XI for each game. I don't believe it for a second.

            C'mon AF. That's ludicrous.

I've got to agree that if he's really said that he wants to play elsewhere and Rafa knows this whilst he's playing so poorly, then I wouldn't expect him to be in our match day squad.

Why would he give up on the title just because he plays Momo?

You don't need to use a player every week to keep him match fit, or close to match fit.

If Sissoko has said that he want to leave to the press then he has probably told Rafa first.

So why would Rafa then play him knowing that he is off in January?

It's not the playing of Momo but the decision to put finance above winning a game. Either he puts out the team he feel will maximise the chances of winning a game (with the proviso that this does not have long term effects on his perception of how players will play later in the season) or he is compromising for non football reasons. If you want to win the league IMO you can't make compromises for non-footballing reasons and I don't think Rafa ever would unless we had nothing to play for.

Rafa would play him when he thought he was the best option, or if he felt the best option was to give someone else a rest. Considering Gerrard and Mascher have played in nearly all the games Momo has we can safely say it is not about resting players.

Hmmm ... Seen the link. It's not been reported in other sources though, so I'd take these quotes with a huge pinch of salt.

                          Why am I not surprised.

It was also reported in the Echo and the Post but they're probably also involved in the Momo smear campaign.

So, you can confirm there is such a campaign. Interesting.

                            Thanks, DS.
                            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Sorry, seriously didn't read the Echo for over two weeks.

In any case, I don't care mate. He still plays for us.

                                Absolutely

Myself and a group of Malaysian businessmen have been paying Momo to play like a blind man whilst also providing him with bags of cash to tell newspaper's that he'd like to move to another club. Looks like its working a treat.
