    The Assistant Manager Thread

    Right first thing's first. This is not a Rafa bashing thread, he is not going to get the sack anytime soon, so leave it there.

    As Pako is gone, who are the candidates for a suitable replacement?

    Paul Jewell?
    Sammy Lee?

    As Rafa will have the last say on the issue, he is likely to be Spanish. I am not up to speed with Spanish coaches...
    I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

        why do we need one?

        Surely he has enough coaching staff to cover the training.

          There are plenty of number 2s on this site...

          Maybe it's about time the board stopped ****ing about and recognised how knowledgeable our internet fans are by appointing one of them as Rafa's Assistant? I vote for Mr Positive himself, Niall...

                  Rafa and Pako were an excellent team. Pako is an excellent tactician. Our tactics has been **** since he left.

                  According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                            He isn't the best option if you only look at the tactics but our new no 2 should also be one that can be a link between the players and Rafa.
