      Good to see Gerrard back!
I could agree with that................. Riise and Hyypia should be first and second in the queue though.

Great player. But we've got Lucas to step in for him.

More concerned about Torres' fitness and when Agger comes back.
Lucas is a forward moving player like Gerrard, he's not a passer like Alonso who is irreplaceable in my opinion.

Calm down and grow up, there are plenty of balanced criticisms on here, it's jsut that most thought that Kuyt was **** and you didn't.

Almost every person here had listed BOTH positives and negatives from the match.

That was good result. Considering Torres and Alonso got injured.

Our biggest problem at the moment is keeping the ball and passing it along the floor. Too often were just punting it forward and giving it straight back to the opposition.

Carragher is a legend. Stevie is finding his form again and Mascherano was just sublime.

Voronin however is ****ing howling. What an awful player, he cant even control the ball. It makes no sense to play him.

Kuyt is different though, he isnt great but he works his socks off. He is a support striker, not a centre forward. He was asked to play right mid today and defensively he did a good job

Crouch was excellent when he came on, only negative was that it meant we hoofed it upto him a bit too much, but in fairness he caused them a lot of problems and was unlucky not to score.

Another very tough game up next, away at Blackburn, win there and we are still right in the hunt with Arsenal playing United next week. Dont lose hope yet, we are still well positioned in the league considering we are having a bad patch.

Fredo is right lads. Kuyt was doing his job on the wing, if Pennant was doing that you'd all be singing his praises. Just because Kuyt was playing out of position it makes him ****e

Fredo, how often do you say the above comment, yet you still continue to be involved in the debate. You love it really, admit it.

I dont think there is any need for sacking Rafa or Parry after that the result, slight over reaction Fredo

But "he kept the ball very well"? I'm sorry but are you sure that was Kuyt? He gave it away more than anyone. He was like a colander, the ball bouncing off him and going through him continuously.
The only way Kuyt keeps the ball is to turn his back on the opposing player, he doesn't do anything with it, just blocks anyone from getting a foot to it.

Another good balanced post. As I said earlier we're at the bottom, they're at the top of the confidence curve. We can't complain about today and did pretty well considering injuries and respective forms.

Nobody is calling for anybody's head but lets look at the game realistically, we played like the away team with a Bolton style of football, rely on the set pieces, and the bits and bobs, hope our hard work and destructive play gets a result.

We were on the whole more worried about stopping them rather then us doing something to win the game.

square pegs in round holes in the two most important attacking positions with both players not having the necessary skill to play in the said positions. half fit Torres did not help either, we might as well have played with 10 men.
                            We come not to play.

Agreed but its not going to be very long before he gives a penalty away with a shirt grab.

Two last week that have been highly talked about and another one today.

He has got to cut that out of his game. The opposition and referees are going to be looking for it.

Its going to cost us sooner or later.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

He's meant to be an offensive player, he's not clever enough to play as a creative player.
