I think Kuyt had a decent game last night, except for a couple of poor shots he did well.

What I don't get at the mmoment with Kuyt he was meant to be this fantastic 20/20 striker, well at the moment he's not scoring anything and he's not creating anything, and Rafa consistently playing him is really starting to do my head in, and in the process is making Rafa look like a tit, getting the fans on Kuyt's back, and hampering our progress.

He's obviously trying to play him into form, but a blind man and his dog can see it's not going to happen, he hasn't looked like doing it all season and I don't see it changing any time soon.

He needs to be dropped, not rotated - dropped. Give him a spell in the reserves, and play Crouch in his spot. Lets be honest here Crouch is certainly going to be no worse than Kuyt (it would be very hard to be that bad) and I'm confident his inclusion would start bringing more confidence to the team and more goals.

I've always had Rafa down as an intelligent guy, but if he can't recognise that Kuyt is contributing very little to the team, and he's got a proven goalscorer on the bench who deserves to be played over him every time, then he really needs to explain his thinking on this matter, because whatever Rafa has against Crouch, it shouldn't be at the expense of our results.

i'm waiting for the next kuyt interview...blah blah....one more game....i'm nearly back to my best.....followed by some deluded fool on here being excited when kuyt's name is named in the starting 11 with drug induced visions of him scoring, me i'd be happy if he fell over and actually landed in the penalty box some time soon.

Let the **** play every other league game, as far as i'm concerned he'll still be ****!

Rafa is at best misguided if he really thinks this poor excuse for a donkey will ever come good. As far as i can tell the only thing he has going for him is that he doesn't have a ****in pony tail like that ****e crow that once had a fan club on here.

To be fair, Kuyt is the only player in Liverpool at the moment, who can be arsed about playing for the red shirt. He's giving all for the shirt. If some of the players did that on a regular basis, we would be much, much higher up the table.

IMO, Kuyt had one of the best games this season yesterday.

He just is not good enough. Simple - he works hard and for that has my respect, but as a footballer, in particular a striker, he is just average at best IMO. For a team who wants to win the league, we have to be looking beyond this level of player.

i'm sorry mate I just don't see it, imo he was ****ing woefull last night, every time he was given the ball he either had a tame shot, ****ed it off into the stands or gave it away. Now to be fair Torres didn't have a good game either, but when you're providing the goods on a regular basis you ca be excuse the odd quiet period

However, he created two brilliant chances, which is two chances more than what he usually does.

and it's a sign of the times that creating 2 chances for him is an achievment

I wouldn't say the only player. Kuyt has been in a prolonged (very) poor run of form which he's acknowledged himself, but I will say [Col Frank Slade tone of voice from Scent of a Woman] that he doesn't try and hide when things are going badly. Now that takes courage my friends, that takes character. That's what a Liverpool team should have.[/Col Slade]
I'd love Dirk to get his form back - I like him and I think he's the best player we have to play alongside Torres.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

FFS, I'm so sick of people thinking that players are 'good' enough if they "give their all". what planet are you on? If we want people who give their all, sign Hulk Hogan.

You're giving your all too ... But you're not good enough.

I think the issue here is that Rafa likes one of his strikers to drop back and help the midfield when we dont have the ball, effectively making us a 4-5-1.
For that job Dirk is the man as he'll run all day and cover the pitch doing it.

The trouble is, is that is not what youre looking for from your strikers, and when he is in forward positions his game is shockingly bad.
No disrespect to Dirk because i like the lad, but as player he has no first touch, no pace off the mark, limited vision, and gets himself into positions where he can do no damage to the opposition whatsoever. If he was the kind of player who ran the channels and had some sort of end product be it a telling pass or a good finish then i could see the case for persevering with him when hes not playing well, but the truth is that he offers us nothing in an attacking sense and just simply isnt a top level footballer in any shape or form.

I just dont see what alternative there is other than to move him on as we've seen all of what he has to offer and it falls short of whats required. I genuinely thought that he would push on this season after an average first season albeit a settling in one, but hes got worse and i dont think theres any way back.

For the record, i dont think Crouch is the long term answer either but hes a better option than Dirk and he must be wondering what he has to do to get a run of games.
IMO, Crouch should be given a run of games in an attempt to form a partnership with Torres because from what ive seen of them together that looks the most promising, certainly for this season anyway.
