Kuyt....

I don't rate Kuyt and really cannot believe that he starts so many games.

His first touch is appalling, he has no pace and cannot get passed a player. He offers very little threat.

He works hard yes, but then so would I.

There are a couple of these types of players, Kuyt, Sissokko, and Riise, who've had plenty of time now but keep on putting in average performances. They offer nothing to the team other than a great work ethic, but they're not the types of players that are going to take us closer to the premiership title.

I think Kuyt could be far better for us if he was used in his best position...up front. Not somewhere in ****ing midfield. I really think he has all the attributes of shearer...the thing is he isnt getting the games and confidence that comes with it. Shearer was one of the best ever and there is no way Kuyt will ever come close. Shearer was one of the hardest, nastiest strikers the premiership has seen. He'd really give defenders a hard time and he could also score for fun. Kuyt has none of that.

Kuyt really could become a nuisance for defenders if he was playing on the last man's shoulders. Once he bagged a few from that position he'd be flying.

Agreed....Shearer grew into that man, he wasnt always like that, he was a weedy little **** at Southampton...Kuyt has all the attributes....I doubt that he will be half the player Shearer turned out to be either, but...theres a decent chance he could if only we played the ****er where he should be played!!! Thats all i was trying to point out.

IMO Rafa always plays one of his strikers much too deep and I think we'd benefit from Kuyt playing on the shoulder because Torres is not that type of player

Thats exactly what I think! I cant see how Rafa doesnt see that Torres is a player who likes and is ****ing amazing at dropping off and making his own chances, Kuyt and Torres is potentially a match made in heaven..but reverse their ****ing roles!! Play Kuyt right up top and Torres deeper!

Why is people are assuming that he's playing somewhere off the front or in midfield because Rafa has asked him to?

It is not beyond the realms of possibility that Kuyt appearing anywhere but in the box is his interpretation of good forward play...?

When he's played with Torres I understand his dropping off to create space, link up play, work the channels but when he's with either Crouch or Voronin he seems to still want to play anywhere other than the penalty box

regardless of my negative opinion of kuyt from the offset, and no matter how much it may upset the rcdnw brigade dirk kuyt would not get into the starting 11 of manchester utd, chelsea or arsenal.

he simply is not good enough to hold down a role in premiership winning team.
