I think Dirk's lost his way a bit this season. Last season he worked his socks off and also offered a goal threat, and as a result was probably one of the first names on most people's team sheet. This season he started badly and missed quite a few sitters in the early games though, and it's almost as if he's thought "if I'm not scoring I need to work harder for the team". As a result, he's dropped so deep that he's not really playing as a second striker any more, and is not even threatening to score.

He's still working his bollocks off for the team, and you can't fault his effort, but as a bloke in the pub said after the game - we could sign Paula Radcliffe if all you want is someone who can keep running for 90 minutes every week.

Under an old-style (i.e. non-rotation) management approach, I would say that he needs to be dropped to the reserves for a few games, to have a re-think and try and get some confidence back. I don't know what Rafa will do with his rotation approach, but something needs to be done as Dirk just doesn't look right at the moment. I still think the talent is there, and that he can recapture the form he showed in patches last season, but at the moment I don't think he deserves his regular selection ahead of Crouch or Voronin.

        Aguero is taller then Tevez.
        We come not to play.

According to the footballing bible Wiki Wenger wants Aguero for £15m in the transfer window.

If only he wanted Kuyt for £15m
          We come not to play.

            And?

Crouch is taller but he still gets bullied off the ball.
            It's not just about height

He don't get bullied off the ball that often. I think you have missed most of his games this season. He now go into many challenges and wins the ball because he is stronger this season.

Yesterday he made some excellent moves and just took the ball from the player without any problems at all. Last season they kicked him around now it's more shirt pulling because it's not as easy to take the ball or take him down by kicking him anymore.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

We can't really tell how strong Aguero would be, if he has the frame like Tevez then he will be fine.

Yeah but he doesn't, he has a frame like smicer.

No he hasn't. He is much stronger than Smicer and will get even stronger. Look what Rafa did with Garcia for example, that's what would happen if we signed him.

But Smicers frame was never just the problem with him, Smicer, Garcia and now Benayoun are not consistent enough.

Do you remember how the little Aimar tore Houlliers big athletic Liverpool side a new bum hole?

The team that now tops the league are probably the shortest one in the league, time have changed.

Nothing to do with height AFII. It's about strength on the ball

He looked the part on his home debut, when he came on and was chasing everything looked sharp and nearly scored..I don't know his best position, i could see him being more useful in a formation where we have Babel upfront with Torres (pace, power..) and try and find a position just behind them, as a link up player between midfield and attack.. but then you'd have to take a midfielder out of the equation and with the likes of alonso, gerrard, mascherano, kewell, pennant, lucas, sissoko you would have to take your pick of three from them.

Well, that is one of our Aguero's biggest strengths so I can't see no problem with that.

You more or less can't take the ball from him if you don't chop him or pull him down.

That's why he now scores a lot of goals and make a lot of assists.

For me Kuyt doesn't offer a goal threat or have a big effect on the game, he works hard but his touch, technique, and finishing are poor. I really don't see why he keeps getting picked, I know a number of people don't think Crouch is of Liverpool standard, but the fact is he offers more in the final third that Kuyt and at the moment he's the best option we've got as a partner for Torres, his height worries defenders and his presence in the box creates space for others and he's got decent touch and technique and his goalscoring record isn't bad
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
