As much as i like Anelka he and Torres would not be a great partnership, Anelka is very selfish (thus the goals). We need a playmaker type player to pull the strings someone like Tevez/Rooney.

Played really well and dominated the game. Good team performance.

Unfortunately though, we have a very weak link called Dirk Kuyt. Doesnt play as an actual striker. Tries to use pace when he doesnt have any. Tries to out muscle people when he has no strength. And when the chance falls on a plate for him, not only does he fail to score, but he gets in the way of two team mates who probably would've put it in the net. FFS i'm sick of seeing this lad, yes he works hard, blah blah...but that should be the most minimum of requirements.

What does he actually have other than workrate and attitude?

Great touch? No. Lots of skill? No. Pace? No. Strength? No. Clinical finishing? No. What???

Babel again looked dangerous when he came on, he must be used up front for me. Play him with Torres and if/when we're ahead late on, give Kewell his rest with 20 left and drop Babel back into the midfield.

That game was there to be won. Two dropped points and once again we fail to take advantage of a slip up from others.

Making up one point a month on the leaders will win us nothing.

Kuyt played ok but there were several opportunities to play an early ball into the box, particularly late in the 2nd half when he should have hit it low across the area but stopped for some reason...

Babel should have played earlier. Torres was playing against an excellent defence but still managed some shots on target.

A good draw but not the 3 points we needed.

Don't want to put a dampener on anything, but completely agree with the above. Babel has got to get a good run in the team - he seems to carve open more chances during his 20 mins than Kuyt does throughout 90 mins.

Yeah but we couldnt score them. Better quality in the box usually means you'd score from those chances.

Kuyt is just so average, it's painful. He's basic. Nothing special about him. He should be playing for a team like Boro or Newcastle, not for us.
