Silly Season back with a bang or a small pop?

Any chance we can have a seperate forum for transfers, I am starting to get that transfer itch again ... you know the one which crack heads have when they have not got there fix ..

Well thats me around transfer season...

You lot think anybody will actually go anywhere ? I am not expecting anything.

The only senior players I would reluctantly consider letting go would be Risse for a very good price ..sometimes its right to let good players move on or Crouchy ... but only for serious serious coin 11 Million plus perhaps Momo as well for a very good Fee. I think Xabi, Masher, Momo and Stevie not to mention Lucas is a little too much talent in one area

Be interesting to see if anything does come about in Jan

I think we'll be signing one central defender and a left back in January. I don't think we'll sign wingers or strikers though. 8-0, who needs strikers ?

Do you know what mate, I have a feeling there's going to be some serious action during the January transfer window, for ourselves and other sides. With so many teams flush with loose change I think it could well be a record breaker. The fact that Spurs have a new manager as well could lead to a merry go round effect as they'll be in for top players and the likes of Berbatove/Defoe could possibly move on.

We definitely need a striker, a central defender and a left back. Kewell coming back means that a left winger is no longer a priority...

Liverpool Transfers: INS: Expect to see the following come in either in January or the Summer. David Villa – Valencia: With Valencia struggling in the champions League and the realisation they will not challenge the likes of FC Barcelona or Real Madrid anytime in the near future, Villa will look to move abroad and Liverpool is his number 1 choice of destination largely due to the Spainish contingent. He will form the deadliest strikeforce in Europe alongside his Spainish team mate Torres. Javier Mascherano will sign permanently – fact. Gabriel Hienze will make the move he originally wanted coming back to England. Ricardo Quaresma – FC Porto: Move unlikely to happen until the Summer. Joe Cole – Chelsea$ki: With Joe Cole unhappy about his position behind Malouda, it is well known he is not happy at the Chavs and Rafa is a big admirer. Steven Taylor – Newcastle United: It's well known that Rafa is a big admirer of this lad and will look to bring him in as the third choice CB, Hyypia will stay but play very infrequently. Newcastle would prefer to keep him but the chance to play Champions League football will be to much to turn down and Taylor will ask to leave. OUTS: Voronin will leave, he has been quite solid but Rafa knows that he cannot seriously challenge for the title with Voronin leading the line. Crouch was Rafa's original choice to go but he will soon realise how valuable Crouch is especially after the Besiktas match. Pennant will also leave in the Summer as long as Liverpool secure Quaresma. Riise will move, possibly to Chelsea as part of the Joe Cole signing alternatively Newcastle as part of the Taylor acquisition. Scott Casron will move permanently to Aston Villa. Lastly Momo Sissoko will move to Real Madrid as part of the Hienze deal. + MB+

I would cream my pants if all of the above happened. Maybe switch Kuyt with Voronin though but either way I'd be delighted.

Clearly its complete and utter cack but we can all dream...

To replace whom ? I don't think Rafa will part with Voronin or Kuyt, let alone Crouch. Not this mid season. If he changes things, it'll be next year.

Rafa plays with one central striker with another withdrawn one and he prefers the goals to come from all over the pitch. Yossi, Stevie and Babel aren't recognized strikers yet they scored 6 of our goals on Tuesday.

No way will Rafa sign a left back. A centre half maybe but not a left back. We already have Arbeloa, Aurelio and Riise capable of playing there. Dont expect the left back position to change mid-season

We're in bad need of a defensive central midfielder so I expect we'll sign 4 of them and we'll also sign 3 goal keepers. I expect us to steal 17 various new messi, zidane, henry's from Real Madrid and Barca aswell - Hopefully we'll get Simao and Alves to be taxi'ing on a runway. Zidane has just repainted his garage so its likely he'll be letting that out to Eto if he gets planning to convert it. Tom and George will probably fall out and at least one of their son's will be looking to take Rick Parry's parking space. Henry and Bowyer will be pencilled in for medicals at Melwood and a driver will be sent to bristol after flight B0LL0X123 from Seville will be arriving with and agent called pablo for a meeting that will last 16 hours during which Parry will be seen wearing a green tie. There will be word from Michael Owen's uncle that its very likely that he is coming home if conditions are just right but it will be called off due to an insider letting it slip on an internet forum and there being fog on the tyne. Flight B0ll0X123 will then be tracked to an airfield in Limerick thought to be owned by JP McManus who is interested in bringing Shergar to the new Anfield to replace 3 honda lawnmowers. Carlesberg will extend their long running sponsorship of the club by having a huge karaoke with the proceeds of the night going straight into Rafa's war chest. FACT

If Rafa indeed ships out Riise, then he'll sign another left back to compete with Fabio. Fabio is a great player IMO, but he's too injury prone. Arbeloa has done a good job filling at left back.

We don't know Rafa's thinking about why he wanted to sign Heinze in the first place, could be that he wanted him to cover one of the center backs position as well as being our first choice LB.

I think the LB CB cover is a good call, we need a very good option like this. How long Sami can fill the CB boots is up for debate. It for me anyways be an end of an Era when he pushs on.

Sami could go into scottish or Dutch leagues and play on for another 3 years - the premiership is too quick for him now and this is going to be his last season with us - we need to win the league title for him.

Depends a bit on who goes but I'd like to see us buy at least one quality attacking wide player regardless of any sales.

If Riise leaves then a LB/CB type player would be ideal. If he doesn't then I'm not sure we need either as Agger will be back soon, Aurelio is returning to fitness plus Insua will surely be pushing for a place in the next 6-12 months. I'd be shocked and a little disappointed if we went and spent big money on a left-back specialist.

The striker situation is fine by me so long as we play Crouch more, even if Rafa decides to sell Crouch I wouldn't be against giving Babel some games through the middle and spending the money on a quality winger.
