Right, so these match winners i've been banging on about...
What I don't understand is why so many in this thread have missed the point in favour of a pointless argument about semantics.
Everybody knows the type of players DJS is talking about. It may not meet your own personal definition of "matchwinner" so why not start a new thread to discuss it?
For a laugh, here is a list of players in this season's Champion's League who I would consider "matchwinners" (by DJSs definition).
Arsenal
Van Persie
Fabregas
Barcelona
Ronaldinho
Henry
Eto'o
Messi
Bremen
Diego
Chelsea
Drogba
Lampard
Internazionale
Ibrahimovic
Liverpool
Gerrard
Torres
Lyon
Juninho
Man. United
Tevez
Rooney
Ronaldo
Milan
Kaka'
Pirlo
Inzaghi
Porto
Quaresma
Real Madrid
Van Nistelrooy
Raul
Roma
Totti
Valencia
Villa
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.
You're quite right alpha. Not everyone seems to be able to grasp it as easily as you have, unfortunately.
As for your list, i wouldnt disagree with any of those. Wondering whether Adriano of Inter warrants a mention, though on this season's form, perhaps not.

That's not bad.
Except Pirlo doesn't score enough goals, therefore according to DJS he can't be a 'matchwinner'
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"
LF Clove aka AFII 11/10/07
"i personally hold you and several other gob****es responsible for the chaos this club is in"
I remember you having the exact same argument 2+ years ago on KT. Same points, ...
Do you not get bored with it?
Nope, he doesn't
This is a typical DJS thread.
He makes an apparently open attempt to start a debate, when really all he's looking for is:
a) validation for his own opinion
b) to make himself look superior
c) to take the piss out of people, go round in circles and tell everyone 'if they don't like it don't read it'
As soon as anyone disagrees, he just goes into sarcasm mode or changes and twists either their or his own words to suit himself. It really is pointless but he's been doing it for years so obviously it keeps him happy

I think this season Hleb has become a matchwinner by all the given definitions for Arsenal. He has progressed enormously in the last year and is now a splendid player.
Also despite his age Guily at Roma is a capable of producing goals and assists in even the tightest games.

Maybe Robinho deserves a mention too?
He has finally been showing his talents now this season.
