Obviously if you DONT win the match, there can BE no matchwinner.

I really think its your own perception of the term matchwinner and I for one would not disagree with either. The two main protaganists in this womnderful thread make very valid points and the only thing that one could say to the other is that they have different opinions and not that the other is wrong. Why not leave it there eh boys???

When we play United, Chelsea or Arsenal, I reckon they would single out Gerrard and Torres as our danger men, our match winners, players who can turn a game with a moment of brilliance. Another example of a match winner would be someone like Garcia...how many important goals did he score to win us big matches?
