Thats overstepping the mark. Ypu'd expect us to hate each other in a footballing sense, but thats pure ****e. So, what to do? I'm thinking of contacting Everton FC about it, them being over there to watch a mach and stuff(??), but nothing will happen, perhaps a comdenation? then again will it only serve to puplicise it?? opinions please.

There's a thread on Rawk "Everton - the relationships between fans", a few people in that thread have already written to Everton FC itself and gotten a response - if you could call it that, they were basically fobbed off.

the liverpool fans who died that day could well have been neighbours and friends of everton fans and now missed by all.

To me there's one obvious difference bewteen them and us:

We make banners praising our team/players/history/future

They make banners about us

To me that says it all really, I don't concern myself with teams below us, they rank in importance next to Bolton or some other such club

Nah mate, we're not in that position. But there IS a middle ground between 'LFC loving' and enjoying or condoning banners like that.

It's no more logical to assume that all mancs would've enjoyed that banner, than it is to assume we ALL charged the barriers in Athens.

I'm sure most people are able to realise that.

It's obvious that they have nothing on us in a footballing sense, so out of sheer desperation, they turn to other things to beat us with.

It's pretty sick and you know they wouldnt go there if they were better than us on the park.

Yeah, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, it doesn't rile me up or make me want to make a banner about how bitter the blue****e are. But any sane fan thinking objectively has to appalled by it from a purely altruistic point of view. I honestly can't think of a more crass, distasteful, petty, disproportionate, misguided sentiment as that expressed on that banner. If I was a Juve fan, family member of the dead etc I'd be outraged that my dead brother's memory is taken in vain and *******ised to make some kind of petty point.
