    Kuyt rejects criticism

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has rejected talk that he is having a goalscoring crisis.

The Dutch international has yet to score in open play in the Premier League this season with his only two goals coming from the penalty spot in the victory over Everton.

Kuyt came in for criticism for missing several good chances in the recent draw at Blackburn.

The former Feyenoord man has dismissed criticism of his performances so far this season and says his confidence has not been affected.

    No crisis
"I understand the critics, it's logical because I missed three big chances against Blackburn Rovers. People talk about me being in crisis, but I can tell you I do not feel like that," Kuyt told Algemeen Dagblad.

"If you list the players at Liverpool who have shown their best form this season, I would be at the top."

Kuyt also insists he has no problems with Rafa Benitez's much-maligned rotation policy, despite not being involved in Liverpool's last two games

"At Liverpool, we have a rotation system, which can mean you not playing two consecutive games. (Rafa) Benitez believes players need good rest and so he rotates us. I knew this would happen when I signed for Liverpool.

"If we finish the season winning trophies, he will have been proved right. You'll never hear me complaining."

I've not been a big critic of Kuyt, but if this season has seen his best form, he's really in trouble. Understand that talk of crisis is pretty silly, but he seems to be in a state of denial.

Well, he is wrong about that.
His form has not been good.

Maybe he is just a player who likes to talk himself back into full confidence. You never know how much and interview reflects what a player is really thinking or indeed what mode of thinking helps him produce his best form anyway.

        Ahahahaha.

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear.

I don't want to be actively laughing at ANY of our players, but you've got to laugh at that. He "rejects" the criticism does he?

As for the bit in bold...I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Regardless of his quotes, I judge a player by his performances on the pitch, not what he says, and his performances haven't been good enough for a long time.

          Jesus christ.

That's all we need. Not just an average centre forward but a ****ing delusional one aswell.

Of course it's a crisis. Ho can it not be? He is not only not scoring, his general all round play is muck.

I think this is the worrying bit.

If Kuyt's form this season is the best he can do then he shouldn't even be playing for Liverpool reserves.

Going by the line in bold, basically what he is saying is that his form can only get worse.

Big headed ****, part of our problem this season has been Rafa sticking with him too often

Worrying quotes if they are genuine; at times he's barely looked like scoring, let alone made the goalkeeper pull off an awesome save.

I'm not worried, he will bounce back with the goals(hes got 5 already incase some of you forgot) and ram the criticism down the doubters throats.

hope your right - i will back all players for trying their best which he obviously does.

beginning to wonder if his best is good enough for LFC really starting to wonder.

torres = goals..... can honestly see him scoring every time he plays
kuyt does not = goals ...... will work hard always but as a striker you gots to score or at least be a danger
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

I don't think he really believes that, his body language on the pitch says otherwise.

that is our job to SUPPORT not slagg players off when they are off form, this has been his worst form since joining the club but that does not mean he should be sold as some here suggest. If that is the case we will end up with ressie players playing for the 1st team.
In addition, Rafa has done the right thing by dropping him so this way he can get his form back and start helping Torres with the goals.
