When I read those quotes last night it gave me a warm glow.

This man is one of the best and he is loving life with us.

I can't understand how anyone can want him sacked it just baffles me.

Unlike Shaggy (the dirty manc ) I have 100% faith in Rafa and I am convinced he'll bring number 19 to Anfield.

Analyzing it like that yes, but Rafa sees him in training every day, and IMO he wasn't putting the required effort in training to warrant a more regular place. You only had to look at how he played even though he didn't play much. He was ****e against Toulouse (away) and looked lethargic.

Rafa knows his stuff. Crouch is a good player and can be one of the best around if he stops believing all the hype about him and start doing the work instead. Kuyt, whilst an inferior player (in terms of quality) has been running his socks off, and contributed to the team more than Crouch.

I don't want him to leave either, he's a fantastic outlet for us when in form. Now, if Rafa has the chance to sign an even better player, what would we know ? We have to trust the man.

The games against Marseille, first game against Toulouse and Cardiff were the factors in him getting dropped I think. He just didnt look interested for large parts of the game. Have always liked Crouch but he wasnt himself at the start of the season and didnt deserve a place on the team. Kuyt wasnt playing the best either but at least you could see the effort.

What Rafa do need to do is to get in a new no2. One that can takeover from Pako as the voice between the players and Rafa.

I've never thought he has become full of himself in the way some have but he did seem to stop improving and looking less enthusiastic towards the end of last season. He could have been narked with Rafas rotation policy or subconsciously he might have slackened off due to such universal praise I'm not sure. However he seems to have been bought back to the team and to be playing with hunger again which I'm very happy about.

Then ask yourself why?

Maybe he was out of form?
Maybe he did something to piss Rafa off?

Rafa is a very analytical man, I am sure he thought the team was better without him.
I don't think we can say he handled it wrong since we don't know jack.

I saw Tony talking to Rafa on the phone when he made those comments by the way, he was on the school run, so its possible he was being distracted by a back seat full of screaming kids.

Never advocated sacking Rafa either but I think all fans have a right to be concerned about how things have gone in the last two months. Blind allegiance to Rafa in return for 2005 won't be good for our long-term prospects if, and it's only an if, he's not the man we need to deliver 19.

There are green shoots of a return to playing something resembling attacking football, going on the last two or three games, but we still have some way to go I think. I hope the return of Kewell, Alonso and Agger gives us an extra 10% because IMHO we are only in the title race statistically and mathematically at the moment, and not on the basis of the quality of our football. It IS getting better though and if Rafa at least goes close to the title this year, continues to sign players that make an immediate impact instead of collecting more potential players and our football style further evolves along attacking lines, then I'll be happy enough that we're ready for a massive push in 2008/09.

It's not about whether he'd want to stay or not, it's about the club achieving what it can under him.
