Just wish DJS was in charge of United or Arsenal. He would have sacked Fergi and Wenger a couple of seasons ago.

I think you'll find, semantics aside, I was referring to us being in the title race despite the quality of our performances rather than because of them. The inference being that this is a relatively fortunate state of affairs unlikely to continue indefinitely, hence my hope that recent improvement continues as it is only on the basis of better perfromances that we will stay in the race. Longer-term we simply can't continue to play as poorly as we have done at times in the last two months and hope to be within 5 points of the leaders come May.Originally posted by Redspin View PostI think you'll find that only statistics and mathematics count as to whether teams are in the title race. "Quality of football" - whatever the frigging hell that means - is completely irrelevant
On the basis of your thinking, Man City have more hope of winning the title this year than us. Good luck with that mate.

If we finish 3rd 15 points behind Manutd and dont make a decent run in CL, Rafa will go.
A 2nd spot and he'll get another year.
No one wants him to be sacked now and these quotes wont make any differences. He will leave or be sacked if he clearly failed to challenge for the title.“If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing.”

He was playing well towards the end of last season, particularly in Europe, but it didn't seem to matter a **** when it came to Athens.Originally posted by Skillz View PostSorry DJ. Crouch stood out like a sore thumb early on and the fact he was not playing did not surprise me at all. He was ordinary every time I saw him.
He started playing better about a month ago and 'hey presto' he is playing more now.
Now that's not the end of the story, cos I know you will have something to say, probably in CAPITALS, you clown.
Rafa's failure to pick Crouch for that match was one of the worst decisions in his time at the club but it wasn't the first time he didn't go with a player in form and instead went with some misguided tactical approach. It happened earlier in the season in the league, cost us points and left us floundering in a race for 3rd.

There is no way of knowing.
And we actually looked good in that match, against a top team. We deserved more from that game than we did in 2005 when we won.
Misguided tactical approach? No way, mate.
I am not having that.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

If you were the owner and spent £50M in the summer to buy players who your manager wanted to improve the squad, and make a proper challenge to win the league and yet you still finish 3rd like the previous season, What would you do?Originally posted by Skillz View PostBull****. If I was the owner, I'd really hesitate to sack him and ask my board to take a decision.
I was the manager, I would give my resignation.“If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing.”

Well I thought we were the better team in Athens and we didn't take our chances. Didn't complain too much (well after a couple of weeks anyway) cos we won so gloriously 2 years earlier. Personally do not see picking Crouchy = winning CL Final as easily as everyone else. Even with the benefit of hindsight.Originally posted by bigfooty View PostHe was playing well towards the end of last season, particularly in Europe, but it didn't seem to matter a **** when it came to Athens.
